Just thought of something that whenever I see it I never have a clue what it means and always meant to ask.

What does "Blacktype" mean in terms of horses? Probably something simple but never seen it explained anywhere.

Getting placed in a listed race or higher (graded etc)

It looks better on a CV if the horse is to be sold or go shagging.
I think this is the case anyhow.

Group/Graded and Listed contests can be referred to as “black type” races. The phrase refers to the system of printing in bold type within the pedigree charts of sales catalogues the names of those horses that have won or been placed in Group/Graded races.

Thanks Kev. Question was in relation to Lord Accord but Q has now convinced me he's a certainty to get into the Ultima so I'm a happy bunny now. Good to know though re others unlucky enough to be balloted out of Tuesday races.
