There is a skybet special at 125/1 if that appeals.
Cheers both, I'll take a look at skybet

        • One for the more experienced amongst us. If a bet is placed with a cash out option, and circumstances arise where it becomes clear that the race in question is no longer a target, how quickly do you have to get out before the cash out option is removed? I understand that there will be no definitive answer to this; just wondered if people had experience of getting out in time really. It is something that I’m very keen to keep on top of.

It does depend on the situation but I'd say generally, the higher the profile of the horse, the quicker you need to act.

In my experience, you're lucky if you can act quick enough to cash out a bet on a big injury announcement.

Experience of last season is if there's even the slightest whiff of an injury issue, you need a time machine to cash out with 365.

                • I'm more of a national hunt horse racing fan but I'm trying to get into the flats before the Guineas - are trials for the flat classics solely for the trainer to get a measure of a horse's ability in the lead up to a big race?

Not really, they're no different from the Cotswold Chase (as a Gold Cup trial) or a Kingwell hurdle (as a Champion hurdle trial), they are graded races in their own right that carry good pots and there's no obligation to progress to the 'big' race from the trial.
Flat racing has changed massively in the last 20 years, almost as much chance a horse will have their prep in Dubai or an Kempton/Wolverhampton AW race these days...

For the more unproven unexposed horses yes, as trainers will be deciding whether to run in the Guineas or not.

But for the high class 2yos they will generally be just prep runs, though Aidan does tend to send his best colts straight to the race.

the derby trials will be more of a fact finding mission to see if they have a good one on their hands.

                      • I see Guily Billy is entered up this week, so with a view to next years Champion Bumper, I take it if he wins this week he is no longer eligible for the race next season? Is this correct?

                        TIA

Pretty sure he will be eligible as long as he doesn't run in/win more than 3 Bumpers ??

                          • He can run in 4 bumpers and his 5th would be his final one in the UK.

This is in effect next season.
