    Another question.

When do Paddy and Sky return NRNB money when not entered?
Final declarations is what I was told, but that was from Betfair. I expect PP to be the same, unsure about SkyBet.

I’m sure Sky refunded at the relevant declaration stage any horse was withdrawn.
Makes sense for them, every chance punters will re-invest rather than bank...

          • This is definitely the best thread for this question how does balloting work in handicaps?

            • This may have been answered previously, but...

Does anyone know why they decided to hit mares with penalties in the newly formed Mares Chase yet they run off levels in the Mares Hurdle?

I was looking for a short explanation but i'm not sure there is one!

                    • If you back NRNB (PP and sky for me) with a free bet, do you still get your money/free bet back if they do end up being a non runner. Cheers

                      • talking theoretically about the boddles if quixilious is entered...where there is no formal limit on weight what is most a handicapper can do? if one hirsenis so far ahead on ratings does it compress weights for everyone else

I realise this might be Gordon feint but wondered what options were available to a handicapper

If he wins off that mark, he would put Arkle's weight carrying exploits to shame!

The race will have a top weight 11st 10lb and a bottom weight 10st.
Any horses falling outside of the bottom weight will have to carry extra poundage.

For example if Quilixios is top weight on 144, the lowest rating 'in the handicap' will be horses rated 120.

As i said in the Boodles thread ..we have had horses rated 145 in this race before and he can only have 11 10 ...i would be tempted ...sure he has to give weight away but then hes good isnt he ..

A poor attempt at being humorous on my part. Plus its almost certain he will get assessed a mark higher than 145, given he has a 144 Irish rating and is from a yard that gets additional VAT added on that UK tax. But its a game of opinions, thats why we have this great forum!
