Pfft, over rated waffle I'd say.

Who wants to hear about veganism when you can have 20 chicken nuggets and a wank.

people close to me find it fairly strange in the fact that I'm not in the slightest bit nervous watching a bet regardless of size or in the crowd at a race meeting. However i wouldnt be able to go a crowded restaurant for example..

I would consider myself socially awkward but not necessarily anxious. It often depends on the type of social situation. If it's one on one with someone I find agreeable then I can chat quite happily for hours. Especially if it's a dueling stream of consciousness thing. But if it's more than one person then I lose track quite easily and begin to lose my footing. I used to think my withdrawal was a sign of anxiousness but I figured that I'm just not wired to (or have the inclination to) follow multiple processes in real time. I still withdraw and look for something better to do, but I don't get a complex about it any more.

Similarly, I used to worry about how my words could be construed, but as long as I am satisfied that I am engaging in good faith then I tend not to dwell on it. Obviously, I might be misunderstood in which case I prefer it if people who have a problem air their grievances to see if clarity leads to a resolution. If somebody disagrees with an opinion or observation then I am happy to challenge and defend so as to either test the validity of my perception or learn a more compelling nuance. And if somebody disagrees with me as a person then unless I can see an objectively harmful fault in my action, I just leave that person to torment themselves with their animosity.

Crowds at gigs, sporting events and so forth, I am totally OK with. I would probably prefer a quiet midweek meeting at Ludlow or some small indie gig, but I also like the sense of anonymity or even "oneness" that comes with a huge crowd. But a restaurant full of wankers competitively gorging on chicken nuggets, that's my idea of hell.

There’s a very unhealthy obsession with chicken nuggets and masturbation, what hasKevloaf started...

Except Jono ignores me texts and calls nowadays....
Turns out he thinks having a kid is more important than backing winners ante post.

                    So fuck him.

Position as my best friend is available...... but form an orderly queue so it's managable.
Just no no time when you have a new born. Sadly you have to prioritise.

Having to deal with someone so demanding, highly strung...

I decided to go for the easy option and the baby instead

but with no takers on the best friend front, so we’ll remain best friends by default

Can totally relate to what you're saying here, anxiety has been pretty crippling for me since I was very young (a long time ago now). Haven't been to a crowded stadium in many years because of this and social interaction is something I find very difficult. Even took me about 2 years to finally post more often on here.

Wish I could be as cool as you seem to be about your bets though, I can barely watch the races sometimes.

                        • It's weird how people differ

I have no issue with crowded restaurants, racecourses etc, i can talk in front of 3-400 people on stage with a microphone (and have to twice a year through work) and not get anxious or nervous at all, however if i place a bet which would be bigger than my norm i get so worked up, i have to watch it on my own. Even with the tipster competition, which cost no money, i could feel myself getting stressed.
i've often wondered why this might be, but now ive got used to it,

                          • Hello - I am a new member on the forum in the last couple of weeks so quite fitting my first ever post is on this thread!

                            2 stupid questions........

                            1) what’s the difference between a juvenile and a novice hurdler?

                            2) I have seen talk of sky pirate being a third season novice. How does that work?

Thanks in advance for any responses - I am learning a lot from reading the forum so far

Any horse that is under 4 years old is a juvenile. A novice is a horse that had not won in that discipline at the start of the current season.

If you go a full season as a novice without winning, you'd be a second season novice. Another season and you're a third season novice.

Hope that makes sense, and welcome

                                Welcome to the forum Mudlark.

                                1) A juvenile is a 3 year old (can be younger, but usually not the case in NH racing) at the start of the season, ending the season as a 4 year old. A novice hurdler is a horse that hasn't won over hurdles before the start of the season. Juveniles can run in open aged novice races and get an age (weight) allowance for this too.

                                2) Sky Pirate had not won over fences before this season, so as above with regards to hurdlers, he remained a novice, and remains one until the end of this current season.

Hope you enjoy the forum and get involved plenty.
