It's clear cut. Nothing has changed to the race, other than he has been supplemented.
    100% correct.
This is why when you have backed horses who are confirmed as injured or going elsewhere they will remain as open bets on your account until declaration stage or, in the case of G1s, the supplement stage.
Bets can be voided if the race changes, e.g abandoned and re-run elsewhere/another date but absolutely no way can a bet be settled as a loser if the horse you backed at ante post terms wins the race....

It makes me think one thing is very clear

      • What would you expect to happen to a free bet placed on NRNB terms where all selections are non-runners?

          • Hi all,
I placed a bet on Monty's Star for The Browns Advisory a good while ago now, I got odds of 14/1 and backed him EW.
Thing is, I can't see in the 'My Bets' section what the place terms were at the time, I think it was 3 runners since the field was much bigger then?
The BANC has now been cut up to just 6 runners and Monty's Star is 6/1 with 2 places.
WIll Denise still pay 3 places or how can I find the place terms for my ante-post bets?
            Thanks!

            • If it was months ago it will be 3 places, and will pay at the 3 places regardless of how many runners in the race on the day.

Hills have giving them back to me on NRMB selections. Edit: Scratch that, it was my day 1 freebie

I'm 99% sure they did last year, ive nothing back as of yet, but I'm still hopeful, as back of my mind it did take them abit longer last year to credit the free bets again?

                  • I'm trying to get my head around the exchanges and am struggling with the following :-

If i were to back High Class Hero £2 win at 50's (B365) and then laid off my stake on the exchange (36's currently available), surely i now have my stake back but with a freebet still standing at 14's ??

                    Am i being stupid,

No, that's right, in fact it's a free bet at 15-1 as 36.0 on the exchange is 35-1. But you've got to use £70 of liquidity in your account to fund the potential loss on the exchange of £2 x 35 which isn't for everyone.

You're right. Well less Betfair commission. But the total liability you're tying up until March would be £72. If that's not obvious.

If the market is antepost and the horse is not going to run in the race then you have lost the bet
