    I think that's right Kev
I see Bet365 have the Mares Chase at 2.10pm and the Bartlett to follow at 2.50pm. Don’t know if these are the true order of races but to add a Mares Chase and not have it on terrestrial tv would seem a little odd.

      Cheers Ryan.

I like that the GA is now the same card as the QMCC, that makes some sense.

Unsure BB, Hills have it one from last. If the AB was pushed back to 2.50, that would have to mean the County would be moved until 4.50?

It’s all a bit confusing isn’t it. Either way with the annual being moved then something will have to miss out on ITVs coverage.

How often do horses actually get schooled going over fences?

hendo talks about Champ spending a couple of days with Henrietta Knight and how it’s made a world of difference. It always seems as if the majority of their “work” is just on the gallops not jumping.

i understand there is a risk of injury but surely this risk diminishes the more they practice?

Why wouldn’t you have them schooling regularly? Or do they and I’ve lost it in translation.

Not the same but I don’t imagine high jumpers practice jumping for a week a year.

Yeah I think it has been lost in translation HF.
I have seen the Twisters yard in action and they have a hill (like the Eiger !) with about 6 fences spaced out over about 2 furlongs, similarly there are around 4/5 hurdles over the same distance, the top horses will take these (either fences or hurdles) 3 or 4 times in a work session, I'm unsure how often they do this but it's certainly regularly and I'm sure other yards will do similar...

The last two races being the mares chase and the MP is like Sunday at Glastonbury where after the headliner you know it's the last chance to have it big but all that's on is a load of psytrance DJs playing to wasted crusties

I don't think it has been formally decided/announced.
When they confirmed the Mares Chase would replace the nov h'cap chase they said the new race would be run on Friday, BetFred have (or did on Monday) this race quoted on Wednesday 2.50pm, where they get that from I have no idea.
If Ryan is correct the only change is the Grand Annual moves to Wed and Boodles moves to Tuesday...

Yep, haven't got any confirmation I just thought I'd seen that somewhere.

                        • If you had a horse that won a maiden hurdle and then got injured for over a season and came back - could they still be a novice or because they’ve won a maiden would they lose the novice status?

Also - how long does the novice status last? If you were to run in May - would you have until December or the following May? (1 year)

As soon as a horse wins a race they lose their novice status at the end of that season(End of April usually). Obviously hurdles/chases are different disciplines so you can have some horses who go chasing early after a couple of hurdle spins, and providing they never won over hurdles can go to maiden/novice hurdles years later.

I'm pretty sure the NH season "restarts" at the start of May so you would get until the following April if winning a race in May.
