A bit of a weird question but one I’ve always wondered about….. does anyone know what would happen to your betting accounts if you die? As in will they stay live for the family to withdraw? Will all accounts and antepost bets be voided?
Although I’m not planning on popping off anytime soon, there is a storm on its way and I could be taken out by a stray bin or something! Should I be leaving login details on all my accounts for my missus to access? I would hate to think I nailed a decent one and it just sat in my 365 account laying dormant for evermore!!!
This has been of recent relevance to me. My uncle passed away quite a few months back now, but luckily for the family he had the majority of his account details written down, and we were given the OK by the solicitor to make manual withdrawals where possible, however, there were a couple of accounts whereby he hadn't completed KYC so this caused a few issues. The company who caused the most issues were William Hill. They had a court order, and still took an absolute age withdrawing funds to the nominated bank account, which delayed the distribution of his estate, although in the end this didn't matter so much as the sale of his property is still ongoing, and has now become a bigger issue than betting accounts.
But just sharing my experience dealing with the bookmakers side of things, when something like this happens.
My suggestion is to write down every account/pw and store it safely, should the worst happen.

All done with this in mind a couple of years ago.
Plus I am closing down as many restricted betting accounts as possible, so I have only a handful of account left after this years Festival.
I really dont want to get involved in Bookmaker Financial checks on accounts where they let me bet less than the pocket money I got as a child.
Maybe they think I am still a child

As Charlie said.
Thanks for the stray bin scenario.
I'll add it to the list.
There are definitely more bins these days than there used to be. Odds have increased.
Fancy my chances with the blue ones though.
But countering the increase in volume of bins I’d say the switch from metal to plastic significantly reduces the risk of fatalities.
Feel slightly awkward asking this, but with the sad demise of Mr Fred Rodgers yesterday, do I have to wait until the Festival for NRNB bets to be refunded, or do I ask in advance?

You can choose to wait.
Or ask, and be made to wait.
Or ask and they pay you back early.
Most bookies refund these after entries (if not entered), although the odd one waits till final declarations.
So if you have him for the handicaps then you should get it back next week.

When Sky asked me for my financial information I told the bloke on the phone I earn ?150,000 a year and have no outgoings at all, no mortgage, no car nothing. The bloke evidently didn't believe me but had no choice but to make the changes based on the info I told them.

They're one of the 'pocket money' firms - in my world.
This could have been asked before but I think it would be hard to search for: ratings for chasers and hurdlers
So for instance Honeysuckle has an OR of 165 and a best RPR of 166 (add 7 for mares allowance)
Shishkin OR 177 best RPR 181
I'm finding when hurdlers first go chasing (assuming they jump ok) they seem to merit +10lbs as chasers seem overrated compared to hurdlers.
Are the ratings meant to be same though so needing no adjustment? How is this managed?
Note +10 and the 7lb mares allowance rates Honeysuckle 5lb better than Shishkin on OR and 2lbs on best RPR - that doesn't seem too unreasonable..
