That must be the 4th time I've got the declarations and entries wrong within a month

irishracing.com is best for most things ... I may well set a tracker up with them actually. So I can see ENTRIES

    • Definitely the right thread for this question

not sure if it has been discussed

if Irish horses are not allowed to travel and bookmakers agree to a justice refund on Antepost bets

could this include a horse that has picked up an injury ?

      for example Monalee

This is a guess but I'd imagine they'll use the race entries as the basis for refunds. If a horse isn't entered at the time of the travel ban, I'd be surprised if the horse was refunded.

            Very murky waters.
Why refund a bet placed on a horse who is injured and cannot therefore run regardless of entries ?
What about horses who get snowed in, lorries break down, ferries cancelled etc etc etc.

I’m still of the view this is a pointless discussion because Irish horses will travel over but any gestures offered by bookmakers will be a dangerous precedent.
Don’t be surprised if next years AP books offer no value with all horses quoted 3/1 if bookies will be expected to refund all AP non runners regardless of the reason.
And I said this somewhere before, why would trainers ever voluntarily announce an injury when the yard/connections have all backed the horse?

Any concession would set a very dangerous precedent for me...

            • Evening all. A mate of mine wants to put on a couple of festival lucky 15s with Paddy Power's NRNB and has asked me what will happen in the event of non runners. Embarrassingly, I don't know the answer and can't make sense of the explanation on the PP website.

Assuming he did a 1pt lucky 15 and one selection didn't run, would this effectively become a 2.14pt Patent? Or would all bets involving the NR be voided and it became a 1pt Patent with 8pts returned even if all selections lost? Or would it be something else entirely?

Any help greatly appreciated. FWIW, my mate is the unluckiest bloke on Earth and has never had an ante post winner at Cheltenham. NRs are probably his best hope for a return!

If NRNB, they get 'voided' so any doubles with the voided horse would be singles. And trebles in the yankee become doubles...and the "4-fold" becomes a treble..... then 'single' on that horse is returned.

Your orange bars will appear, and go up, for varying factors of contribution/activity on the forum, from post likes to replies etc...

Yeah Kev has pretty much covered it.

But say your mate had 1 non runner, for the sake of it was ?1 lucky 15 (?15) he would get ?1 back then the rest of the bets would still stand, the 4 fold would be trebles, trebles - doubles and the doubles - singles.

More importantly, if your mate is a desperate tipster, please give us the names of the horses he's picked for these L15's so that we can all avoid them.
