Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

Hate it when the 'capper does that, raised 4lb for sitting in his box.
I backed Glen Rocco on Boxing Day and he was given a very tender ride, switched off out the back well off the pace and only asked for an effort when the winner had gone, closing quickly on the run in.
Glen Rocco winning next time out (over 4f further which was always going to suit) was not a shock against a handfull of opponents, just seems harsh on Glen Forsa to me.
What hasn't helped is the 4th at Kempton, Dell Oro, also won last weekend....

Likely he will need to have been raised enough though to get in the handicap come the festival, so not a bad thing.

            • Was just thinking the same CoD.. 137 been the minimum requirement the past few years so Id say they will be delighted with this news! Probably the exact rating they were hoping for... unless it goes up again of course.

Could well change their plans too, as would seem unwise to risk running him again.

              • I don’t disagree but if he has a prep somewhere, wins half the track and is raised to 146 plans will have to change...

I'm quite sure they'll make sure he doesn't win by half the track, wherever he goes next, unless it's straight to the festival.

I think this rise gives them a big problem. Off 134 he had to run again and with a good showing he would have been raised sufficiently to get into the Close Brothers. 138 is a grey area as I feel it will be below the cut off and it's tricky to still stay under the 145 ceiling with a win nto.

Why do you think the cut off will be 2lb higher than the last two years FM?

                        • The cut off will depend on the ground, loads came out last year due to the heavy going. If it had been gd/soft there’s no way mister Whitaker would have got in. 138 will be touch and go, either sneaks in at the bottom or just misses out imo

                            As above.

3 or 4 years ago the top 20 at the 5 day stage all stood their ground, last year a load weren't declared because of the ground. In a typical running of this race I'd be surprised if 138 got you into this race, given that it's 7lb off top weight.

A 7lb rise to play with is plenty enough movement for them to have another run IMHO.

He's going to have win well against a smart, in form field to exceed that 7lb surely?
