And it's "winning money that matters", otherwise it's only ever a 'sporting gesture'.
I think many people seem to be of the opinion Gordon’s going to throw Envoi into the 3 mile division to make his debut at Punchestown shortly after Cheltenham.

I’m of the opinion this is highly unlikely to happen.

I also do not believe Envoi Allen will be seen anywhere near an Aintree festival. Would be great, but I feel that an “Envoi/Shishkin dust up’ is going to go the same way as the Mayweather/Pacquaio one the whole world waited years for - if it does happen, it’ll be a little way down the line yet. And it all comes down to the Ryanair - there’s your protagonist of a race staring right at them both. Are we likely to ever see either Shishkin or Envoi Allen running in a Ryanair, let alone even meeting in one (let alone even the Melling Chase as suggested)??

    Unlikely I would suggest.

Doubt he'll go three mile either.

Do you think Monkfish may be a threat to the Envoi Gold cup dream ?

I certainly do. Monkfish still has it all to prove, but it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if he goes off fav for the 2022 gold cup.

          • If Envoi was mine I'd be targeting him at the champion chase.
Hes got the speed and in all honesty for the longevity of the horse it's the right thing to do.

Plenty of time for the Gold Cup down the line.

....keep that to yourself as that would scupper our Shishkin CC/Envoi GC bets.

                • Every bet I have placed on the 2021 Festival (of which I have made alot) contain Shishkin and Envoi - Im balls, arse, leg, hands, feet and hands deep in them!

Pick of them at the moment is:

Shiskin (7), Envoi (8), Paisley Park (4), Minella Indo (25)
                  Shiskin (7), Envoi (8), Paisley Park (4)
                  Shiskin (9/2), Envoi (6), Thyme Hill (16)
Shishkin (3), Envoi (9/4), The Bosses Oscar (20), Wide Receiver (33)

                    • Might be best to set up a new thread for after timing multiples
rather than list them on this thread

                      But Good luck.
Many of the ones noted look exciting.

                      • Yeah gone off track a bit here, that'll do now chaps .... boast in your diaries or someone post an after timing thread in the members bit as I know it can be a bug-bear for people especially if it derails a thread.

P.s. Not saying all the above are after timing, just a general musing

                        • After MONKFISH impressed yesterday I felt sure that the money would come for ONTHEROPES in the NHC - and yet he's still 33's! Has anyone heard of any injury/setback? All i heard was they were worried the ground would be too quick to take on the Paddy Power at Xmas.

                          Already qualified
Chased up the best staying novice chaser on seasonal bow
Did his best work at the finish without ever trying to get too near to 'The Fish'
Already has some experience at 3 mile plus

I must stop backing this horse!!

I assumed he must have been injured to miss the Paddy Power. What's his Irish rating? Any chance he'd squeeze in below 145?

Just checked - 139 Irish rating.

Check again tomorrow, they still haven't evaluated Monkfish's run yesterday and they could very well re-evaluate OTR's rating on the back of it. Be some prospect for the Kim Muir if he stayed below the 145 but don't think the BHA handicapper would allow it anyway..

He'd be a nice ride for Patrick in either race but imagine if he got in the KM.
