  • Taylormade for an RSA for me.

Monkfish is obviously the issue there.

Should do the right thing and put him in the race he has best chance of winning.

Hes not beating Envoi and the 4 miler would be an insult to the horses ability.

Well, if Willie doesn't have a better prospect for the Marsh you can see it being the ride.

      • Mullins will take on Envoi with TBG. He's said he's not scared of him. What a match up that'll be. One to savour. He'll avoid Monkfish in RSA that way. Perfect.

        • The PTKO/TBG RAB top 4 any race special is looking a steal now. Hope a few of you followed me in ??

A little early to be calling it steal? PTKO joint 5th in the market and that horse has just beaten her last time out.
Place chance certainly. But far from a steal imo

Too early to be drawing this conclusion, especially re a Mullins horse. I doubt many will be rushing to take on EA. He'd go RSA were he mine

I’d 100% agree with that. I think everyone is overly obsessed with Mullins splitting his horses up and/or having one for every race. They run where they have the best chance of winning, you don’t tell big owners that you lessen their horse’s chances of winning (a Cheltenham grade 1) because you have another in the stable for that race

Personally, finding the Ruby Walsh ride was a good way of working it out.

I don't think Paul Townend has quite the same sway, however whilst not being obsessed by it, it's definitely an important angle that shouldn't be ignored.

I know there is no issue with more than one horse in a race, but they'd be silly not to split their pack to have their #1 jockey with a best chance in each race wouldn't they? I can't think of any examples of them not doing that...

Also, with the number of horses he has, he will have one for every novice chase.

I do see your point, but nothing wrong with a bit of targetted obsession... my lawyers have not told me to say.

Obsessed may have been a little strong! Sorry

However, the jockey works for the stable not the other way round, I’d certainly agree with you that PT has much less pull than Ruby

                      • I'd say the big getaway will head to the RSA. Donnelly will split his horses and it will probably be Shishkin Arkle, Asterion Forlonge Marsh and The Big Getaway RSA. TBG already seen EA's behind, AF hasn't had the pleasure yet. Any news on AF after his fall btw? Can't find anything online.

On the evidence we have, Donnelly won't split his horses as a given?

Asterion Forlonge and Shishkin running in the Supreme is pretty much the only thing we have to go on so I am not sure you can be too certain on it?

Also, Asterion Forlonge is unlikely to be on the boat isn't he at the moment, certainly hasn't earned his spot yet anyway and left handed is a big question mark still.

                          • Paul Townend said in his interview he think TBG to be a 2.5 horse

So I’ve added 1pt e/w at 25s with Sky for the Marsh

                              • Can really see TBG putting it up to Envoi. Those two swinging away , pinging every fence and then going hammer and tongs over the last few and up the hill is what it's all about. Just hope I'm there to witness it. A great match up and a sight to behold. It's what top NH racing is all about.
