Apparently picked up a knock and won’t be out over Christmas. We’re all praying for a Cilaos Emery style late arrival without the crappy ending

    • I took a hit today! But a little boost! I have elixir for the arkle EW and ferny for the supreme at 11/1! So not a great day..but im very happy this weekend with billaway and paisley. This is the most involved ive got with ante post out of the last 4-5 years..champ classic last year was heart breaking and ive gotta say ferny was a little bit of a blow but then seeing paisley not have it his own way and still get up made it all much better!

Already in my book, but definitely one to be looking at for the race too for anyone that hasn't yet, I agree.

The horse is Shan Blue and widely available at 25/1 in a market where only Monkfish has really impressed. I assume the decs for the Feltham will come out in the next couple of days but interestingly Hills have priced this up and have him as favourite. Stable is in great form and could see him running a big race over Xmas.

PTP winner and has some decent bumper and hurdles form (3rd in his bumper to Chantry House, fell when he looked like he would beat Sevarano at Newbury and 2nd to Shiskin albeit well beaten). Given a typical Skelton hold up ride in Ballymore and never really put in race (100/1), jumped well and plugged on up the hill.

Skelton has always thought he would be a better chaser and jumped really well first time out and won in a canter. It's his last run though that really impressed me and visually impressive. Jumped as well as any novice (apart from Monkfish) I've seen this season and beat Snow Leopardess by 16l giving her 13lb. She franked the form next time out albeit only off 126.

Rated in the top 10 novice chasers by Timeform (148p) and RSA seems obvious race to avoid Envoi Allen in Marsh. With all the good judges on here I'm surprised he hasn't been mentioned more. Looks really good value at 25/1 each way with the potential to shorten significantly.

Interested in what I'm missing as thinking about going in again. If he got a decent mark he could perhaps go for one of handicaps and stable very good at laying one out for a race. Just think he's potentially better than that.
I don’t have much to add about the horse until I’ve seen him run again on Boxing Day but I thought it was worth saying that this is an excellent opening post.

              • Cedarwood Road entered up on Sunday in 2mile chase. Klassical Dream in the same race. CR was hugely disappointing first time up but clearly that wasn't his running. Jumped left most of the race so it could be he was feeling something or he may have just needed the race. The ground was pretty heavy too so I'm more than happy putting a line through that run. His final Hurdle race where he beat Beacons Edge and Entoucas into 2nd and 3rd now makes very, very good reading. Hopefully he can get back on track this weekend with a win.

                • I will be so disappointed if Klassical Dream isn't better than him even first time up.

You know my thoughts on KD so I'd be disappointed if CR wasn't good enough to come out on top. Good match up though and if either were to win, their odds will tumble.

great post bud I agree he’s overpriced in the RSA he’s some jumper. Soon as he won last time and Skelton said they are going to Kempton next, I started backing him at 5/2 with Hills. Been chipping away for a few weeks now and he’s my biggest bet of the year. I see him jumping round Kempton for fun and putting them all to the sword from halfway. He’s a natural jumper who gains ground at every fence, it just seems effortless for him. Like Skelton said he’s a different proposition over fences like his stablemate Protektorat.
It will probably come back to bite me in the ass but for me Tizzards is a boat who won’t be suited to a speed track like Kempton against a slick jumper. If the cap fits has just been ok and not the most fluent jumper either. I’d probably have ENRILO the main danger as he’s hit the front much earlier than he wanted to on his last two runs and jumps very well. Something to track for longer will suit him here but I think Shan will be a bit too sharp for him.
let’s hope Shan Blue pays for Christmas!

Another fan here. In terms of pure jumping he has impressed me more than any other novice so far. He perhaps lacks a little of the magic dust of others but if he jumps like that in an RSA there will be a lot more behind him than in front. I hope he puts in a similar jumping display nto and if he does I suspect many more will be talking about him.

Me too @ 25/1 for the RSA Shan Blue
I have also done the related doubles and treble with Allmankind and Protektorat

So in danger of ridicule here but when assemble tried to put it up to EA and in a matter of strides EA batted him away. Watching real time I remember thinking I had seen that before.... when Southfield stone tried to do it to Protektorat. Almost identical.... both made my hairs stand up but only one has been spoken about.

I have said it some weeks ago (somewhere) that it was the best round of jumping by a novice around Cheltenham IMO

                              • Latest exhibition 7/1 e/w for the nevilles chase could be the bet of the Xmas period

Ruby said on road to Cheltenham that monkfish is far from a definite runner

Gordon has said today that Pencilfulloflead will likely be running at limerick on 26th
