The Paddy Power is a "big deal" race, worth a lot more than many Festival races.

Thanks Pendil - very interesting. Good to know he's qualified. Do you know if any other Mullins 'possibles' are already qualified?

        • Escaria Ten - 40/1 for the NH Chase, won very easily over 3m1f there?

....generally into 20-1 for NH Chase. Only a couple of firms have it in RSA list, PP go 33-1.

            14-1 from 25-1 in Hills a/r market.

            • I nabbed Escaria Ten for the RSA at 66/1 with Betfair before the off at Thurles. It sounded a very slick performance beating some other credible horses. I think he will go for the RSA but have him covered for the RSA. Gordon may try Andy Dufrense at Leopardstown over 3m as mentioned on the forum but Escaria Ten will get the trip, is owed by people who support Festival runners and I still 33/1 is a good price for a horse who ran well for most of the the Martin Pipe last season before getting outpaced.

                • ESCARIA TEN looked very good in his 3M1F Beginners Chase at Thurles.

That qualifies him for the National Hunt Chase, and also is a big pointer that the Monkfish (1st) and Ontheslopes (2nd) form could be solid.

In Gordon Elliott's Racing Post Stable Tour on 19th October, he had ESCARIA TEN as a "Dark Horse" to follow
"He won a couple of times over hurdles, and could be a good staying chaser for us this season, He's an exciting horse and one we are really looking forward to"

THe only two other Dark Horses in the 100+ horses were Sir Gerhard and Homme D'Un Soir.

I think given Monkfish beat him so effortlessly on debut, he'll struggle to reverse that form in the RSA.

NH Chase or the Ultima would be more realistic in my opinion.... him having more than 1 dart in the NH Chase wouldn't be uncommon, and I don't think the owners will be kicking up a fuss demanded he competes anywhere in particular.

Gordon seems to have lined Codd up for Galvin, but he uses O'Neill too, (both of them?) - could definitely see him have more than just the big G running.

I don’t think Escaria Ten is beating Monkfish if both turn up in the RSA but at big odds is a worthy place chance given the lack out of stand out horses after Monkfish (Next Destination, Big Breakaway and possibly Latest Exhibition) and at 6.6/1 which is more than Monkish currently is a good price with a cash out option.

May well be, I'd definitely look at backing him for the NH Chase too though

Ontheropes finished 11l ahead of Escaria Ten in The Monkfish race and is already qualified for the NHC. He is still available @ 33/1 with b365 and PP

I think Pencilfulloflead is a very promising horse but I’ve not backed him yet because of the comments I read that he will only race at the Festival if it’s genuinely soft. If he does turn up he will definitely be a contender but it’s whether they take him??
