Like many I’m sure they’ll plot a course away from Envoi Allen so he may well end up Arkle...

    • He’s shishkin’s able deputy should he miss for the festival for whatever reason but he’s one I’ll be backing e/w in the marsh as a possible horse to take Envoi Allen on with & maybe mop up some place money in the process

      • Has the RSA option not been considered a possible target for Allart. I think that this a probable by my reckoning. Shishkin for the Arkle and swerve E Allen in the Marsh . Nicky usually has one for the RSA . It would make a race with Monkfish.

...not widely priced up, I looked earlier but somebody might be thinking along the same lines as its into 20-1 with Sky for RSA.

          • He didnt win that like an RSA type imo he was given an educational ride on the first circuit, nico just keeping a lid on him and letting him get over the obstacles at his own speed

then he slowly bought him into the race and he travelled all over the second showing plenty of speed

Most arkle winners these days are staying 2 milers (altior, footpad, PTKO etc etc) that was what I thought he looked like

Could he get the Marsh trip, definitely, but id think a strongly run 2 miles would suit him perfectly if his jumping improves with experience

The owners will just have to decide whether to take on shiskin in the arkle or the second coming in the marsh

            • Henderson kind of leaves the door open for all races (RSA cursory only), and missing Cheltenham altogether.
              Mainly waffle.

When do we expect to see Shishkin again ?

When it's 11 degrees having had precisely 10mm of rain in the 48 hours leading up to a race where 4 rivals are at least 20lbs inferior, also the grass has to be no longer than 12mm. So it hasn't got to be perfect but close to it aye Nicky

You forgot when the horses farts smell of cinnamon on the morning of declarations.

He is in danger of getting the trainer yips as he gets older, like my good friend Ruth.

                    Exactly.

As I said earlier on today, he has just shown incredible speed. That wasn't a staying performance at all. He's got more ability that fiddlerontheroof and was able to stay with him, and sprint past him, cos he's loads faster.

It's interesting to see how people read races isn't it.... I'd be amazed if he even tried 3 miles this early in his career. The annoying caveat is a lot of horses stay further when they get older so maybe one day he'll end up a 3 miler.

If he tries 2 miles and flops I'll hold my hands up and apologise to everyone that thinks he's more 3 miler than 2 miler, but I'm shocked it isn't clear cut!

                    • It was definitely speed

Youd expect a 3 mile stayer to be outpaced then stay on past horses over that trip

He came there on the bridle like a quick horse

Looking to future plans, the Seven Barrows trainer said: “That was two-three today, so where do we go. We have Shiskin, who beat him the Supreme, over two miles and while he’ll stay two and a half miles no problem then you walk into Envoi Allen.

“But, as some people tell me, not all roads lead to Cheltenham. I certainly think we’ll be sticking above two miles, but I’d be surprised if he was a three-miler as he has so much pace.”

So he isn't as good as Shishkin and he'll avoid him.
He is running scared of Envoi Allen, bore off.
                        Not a 3 miler....

                        So avoid Cheltenham altogether?

If we do get a syndicate horse, there is no way we're sending him to Hendo
He's getting on my nerves these days

                          Henderson, tizzard, hobbs, Ruth jefferson

Looks like the horse would need to be trained in Ireland

                          • I think all this talk from trainers of bypassing Cheltenham is an early excuse if they can’t get their horses fit and ready in time. After what happened last season I can’t see trainers and owners playing the waiting game and holding out to keep their horses fresh for later targets like Aintree & Punchestown. I think they’ll all be trying to turn up at Cheltenham and making hay whilst the sun is shining just incase this pandemic continues and fixtures get cancelled again.

                            • So Henderson seems to have 3 between the Marsh and the RSA (if he wants to avoid his own Shiskin) at present, Fusil, Allart and Chantry House if he pulls his finger out. Be interesting in how he juggles them. I think Fusil looks like Marsh now but not sure how the others may fit in. maybe he will throw 2 up against Envoi to make it a messy race, who knows.

                              • The sad demise of Easywork has forced a rethink for a lively E/W shot and Ive found Pym for the RSA.
