  • Does anyone have any thoughts on Allart? Who is due to just fences for the first time in Public today, straight into G2 company.

In my experience, when a horse is chucked in first time to a high level race, they are either pretty bloody good, or they are the start of a handicap job, as they can be well beat and no one bats an eyelid.

Looks a 2 miler, Hendo trying to shoe-horn him into being a Marsh horse as he has Shishkin.

Won't win today (trip), might end up in the Grand Annual because of it...

      That's my best guess

He'd be of interest in the GA for me.

No point running him in the Marsh, Fusil is his number 1 for that

          Edit: sorry behind the times

            • He stays more than 2m no problem

Nico gave him a nice ride there, let him come into the race. His jumping got better as the race got hotter.

              • Lovely ride from Nico there. Cant ask for anymore for that on his first run over fences.

                • That’s the most I’ve been impressed by any novice chaser this season not named Shishkin or Envoi.

Made a couple of early errors but you could see the horses confidence increasing with every jump. The way he attacked the last ask the turn of foot as they turned for home was something very very good. He was gaining on the bend despite being three wide.

Great ride from Nico. Great performance. That has really really impressed me. I really think he could be one of the champion novices this season undoubtedly.

The best one we have seen over a distance here for sure. The Marsh beckoning perhaps? He may throw him and Fusil in.

                    • Allart was very good there.

Thought he was going to be outpaced but he ended up not really doing so and stayed on really well.

Ronnie Bartlett has a fair few decent horses this season.

                      • How many times does fiddlerontheroof need to get out speeded for tizzard to step him up to 3 miles

Very good effort from allart on chase debut

I very rarely go wow and start claiming horses as future champions after one run but to me, Allart is going all the way to the top. I thought that was fantastic. His turn of foot on the bend was just superb.

I’d expect he’s one for the Marsh. Had no intentions of taking Envoi on with anything but I’m happy to let Allart win me the each way money too. F**k it... anyone got prices for the forecast??

                            • Fiddlerontheroof was 45 lengths behind Allart in the Supreme and wouldn't be my idea of a standard bearer for UK novice chasers.

Allart did it well and couldn't really have done more. I thought the knee action was quite high (might have been the camera angle) so wouldn't be certain that he'd be at his best when the word 'good' is in the going description - not necessarily an event that will happen any time soon.

                              • Oh My God.

                                I am absoltuely staggered.

I've literally just finished watching Allart's debut.

If you read the comments on here then watch the race you'd think you've lost your minds.

I can't believe it. Made mistakes and shown he's got more speed than Fiddlerontheroof?

Mark him up for it being his debut but come on chaps, the hyperbole here is extrordinary?!

I was being tongue in cheek before the race that he won't stay, he's not got a problem at this trip and Nicky (because of Shishkin) will keep him at it, but he's an horse I'd love to see over fences at 2 miles - could be a proper Arkle horse. That speed.... that was the best bit (although still, against a stayer)....

I'd like to see him do the same over 2 miles against Allmankind and Gumball to see how speedy he really is

                                I'm baffled still.

Caribean Boy and If The Cap Fits have both dispatched Fiddlerontheroof as well, it's hardly mind boggling form.

.......and I know, Graded race FTO, and it's clearly good.... clearly..... but really, I thought reading the comments he was going to srping away around the turn and absolutely wallop the field..... he's just done enough, that's all.

I see he's still 20/1 too, which is perfectly fine - much shorter than that would have been wild from the bookies too.
