Coko beach is hopefully a handicap plot in the making

      • He is just ridiculous, an absolute monster. Ok hes not beaten much but that will be the same in March.

        The field could well be

        Envoi
Chantry - unless he steps up
        Energumene
        Proetekterat

and 2 or 3 rags to make up the numbers. Cant seen any more than 8 showing, unless 1 or 2 of the ones who are more Arkle types step up.

        • The only thing that can stop him is a fall (imagine at Cheltenham something falls and brings him down or similar) as
soon as NRNB kicks in you can use him as higher interest bank account

So you want her to drop back to 2m this year and then step up to 3m 2f for 2022. She must be a super Mare!

Totally agree Ista, was more highlighting to the fact that although frustrating you just have to enjoy EA

                    • Only thing that can get him beat is the Racing Blogger's cursed blink like he put on Douvan.

He's some yoke, cannot wait to see him over 3m in the future. I do agree though, he'd want to be like Kauto for that with the speed he has. Who's to say he isn't of that calibre one day, he does everything you want and his agility and speed for such a tank is class. Jack Kennedy rarely beams like that after a race, Samcro in his novice hurdle year he did it a few times.

                        Agree.

                        You just can't pick holes.

He's blown the Samcro hype train that we were all aboard out of the water. ****Why would a train be in the water?***

I got in to racing when Kauto Star was already at the top... this seems to be the first genuine super star over jumps since then?

Samcro was on the right path for a while, maybe Douvan too?

This horse is just special. Even if his jumping was below average, I still think he'd win Grade 1's, the speed he covers the ground looks effortless between fences.

Today's race was a non-event really as they skipped loads of fences too, but it's impossible to pick a hole in him?

There was an interesting debate a few years ago on small field graded races, a number of trainers were asked why they wouldn't run inferior horses to pick up place money and they said the handicapper is brutal on those horses who get close/closeish to top class horses.
Imagine Envoi Allen cruising round in second gear and beating a 140 rated horse 4 lengths, every chance that horse gets clobbered 8/10lb that stops him from winning a race for a year.
And of course when you're as good at EA you will naturally scare off a good few too...

can’t see him being odds against for another 12 months(on race day)

If Altior doesn't fit that bill then I don't know what a horse has to do to get there...
