  • Easywork declared for the 2m1 beginners chase at Navan on Sunday. The race footpad and Fakir won.
Not the sort of distance i hoped he'd be running at. Hopefully its a case of timing and perhaps stepped up as the season goes along.

I think its just a prep for the Drinmore. He ran over 2m last season initially, before stepping up. He certainly isnt short of pace!

        Interesting that.

I wonder if they just feel his correct trip is the same as Envoi Allen, but obviously don't want to take him on again, so maybe some work to get his handicap mark down for something like the Brown Advisory.

Agree re Easywork, unlikely he'll end up in the Arkle. More interested in Embittered who is also declared. He was put up ages ago by Spectre I think and he can still be backed at 50/1 with cashout which just seems OTT to me. He's one of my 9 for the Arkle !

Easywork?! I wouldn't think giggy would be willing to put a horse like him in a handicap.

              • Very impressive allmankind. Took a little arkle / any race earlier today

                • Excellent decision to go over fences with Allmankind so soon.
Not sure he'll be championship class but he is just so suited to chasing due to his keen and rhythmic way of going.

No, maybe you are right, I was just thinking outside the box with him.

                      • Yep impressive that really attacked his fences. Do think his running style doesn't really suit Cheltenham, but if the Arkle is a small field (usually is but think a lot will avoid EA so could be bigger than Normal) he could dominate from the front.

                        • He jumped very well

                          • Although I've only backed Easywork for the arkle.

This entry means very little other than he wants to get him started and win his maiden.

Although it will give Gordon options/food for thought if he jumps with enthusiasm and hasn't lost any of his keenness.

                            • I think Easywork could be Giggenstown's RSA horse.

                              • I think what Gordon has said and done this year with Battleoverdoyen is interesting.

And it probably means that options are kept a little more open with some of his horses.
