i had a small play at the arkle as I think he's quite a keen going horse and not sure he'll be suited to going slower and this may end up as a disadvantage over further. But he's a good horse so should be capable over any trip.
Bit small also, at least he was when we last saw him.

Saying he will have to improve for an Arkle would be a stupid comment for me to make as it goes without saying, so i won't say it, but he did look good today didn't he!

We've certainly seen performances like that before where horses make all and it can be somewhat flattering.
Essentially his main rival hasn't completed, and he has beaten a 131 rated hurdler easily... so we can be confident he's better than a handicapper.
I'm a little worried it might alter what the same connections do with Elixir D'ainay actually, but logically it shouldn't really affect anything.
Now a best priced 20/1 for the Arkle (Unexcepted) - it's gonna be annoying hearing people pronounce that wrong - I don't expect him to be the no.1 Mullins Arkle contender still..... perhaps that's because I already have two in my head for that though (Elixir D'ainay/Klassical Dream)

I agree Kev, obviously having him backed is a plus for now, and I'm a big fan of the horse but I would be utterly surprised if he were to be Willie's number one.
I'd still suggest he could go the handicap route when found out up in grade, which is why I went the any race option (mostly).

Easywork is entered in the same race that Battleoverdoyen - Gordon"s RSA horse last season - began his chasing career in last season. He won the Galway race.

Id rather have an obvious physical injury than that any day of the week.
Yes definitely. Usually 'clinically abnormal' means the horse is distressed in some way which is never good. It could be a number of things, but definitely sufficient concern to get out of any bets for now. He can still be backed later at the new longer odds if he's found to be okay and entered up again.
