Was scratching my head the other day trying to figure out who his chasers where with giggi!

Paddy have it 25s for RSA, read into that what you will

      Probably won't run.
      Maybe looking at Handicap rating.
But could run if Gordon has twigged.
Has to finish in first four, and this race can often have only a handful of runners.
      It would make sense.
UK handicapper put him at 152, 4lbs above Irish, in the Cheltenham race this Friday coming.

      • The Arkle(Racing post) & RSA chase(Royal Sun Alliance, effectively) have both not renowned sponsorships for next years festival. Will appear in tomorrow's paper I've just seen a digital print. Apparently the RP were unlikely to Renew the Arkle given a turbulent year with the trade paper, the RSA was not expected by the sounds of it.

So some of you 1000pt a year men dig deep & FJF chase is a possibility

Does anyone knoiw how much it actually is it to sponser a race?

I reckon we could get into the tens of thousands easy enough

I know a company who are trying to get back into sponsoring a festival race, they were close to agreeing a deal for a G1 race with the cost very nearly six figures.
Whilst what Outlaw reports is disappointing there are plenty of potential sponsors to take over, but I always find it sad when long time sponsors pull the plug.
The RSA has always been the RSA, not sure I’ve ever known it as anything else...

The event was formerly known as the Broadway Novices' Chase, but since the mid-1960s it has been run under various sponsored titles. From 1964 to 1973 it was sponsored by the Tote, and it was called the Totalisator Champion Novices' Chase. Since then it has been backed by its present sponsor, RSA Insurance Group, and its predecessors Sun Alliance (1974–1996) and Royal & SunAlliance (1997–2008).
Several winners of the race have subsequently achieved victory in the most prestigious chase in the National Hunt calendar, the Cheltenham Gold Cup. The most recent was Lord Windermere, the winner of the latter event in 2014.

Just found that on Wiki.... so that's probably why!

The races should all have their own names (regardless of sponser) that describes the race.... the "Ryanair" should be the Intermediate Distance Championship and then sponser just gets their name at the front and people can and will know it as that.

              • We’ll still be calling it the RSA for years to come (aka the Hennessy)! Racing Post no surprise as the paper itself must be about finished

                • Not that it should matter as money is money at the end of the day, however I hope it's not some company that makes it sound horrific like "Just Eat Chase"

                  • Maybe the BHA could encourage more modern businesses and brands to get involved like online dating apps like Grinder, I think the Grinder Handicap Chase could work

                        • I'm just in catch up mode, so apologies if I cover any ground already discussed:

                          Envoi Allen
His price has been cut because they can. It's been a feature of this summer that horses are cut without leaving their box. The bookies have made the most of people being bored and having itchy fingers. Subsequently there is much less antepost value in the market this year than I've ever known before. Hills have just used the Elliott stable tour as an excuse to cut so they don't take any money on him for a while, and so that they don't pick up liability on multiples.

                          If The Cap Fits
My immediate thought was they need to take Cheltenham in at some point to see if he does act, and using Fry's usual MO of not stepping horses up quicker than he needs to, I also thought the Dipper would be his likely target. After stepping up to 3 miles on trials day last season, I suspect Fry would prefer he doesn't step up to 3 miles until next season when he would surely be Gold Cup as Plan A, and the Ryaniair as Plan B if it doesn't work put. FWIW I think he'll need a flat track for 3 miles and the he'll perhaps want the intermediate trip at Cheltenham.

                          Column Of Fire
Surely a handicap after playing around with him for half a season. Either the Plate or the Festival Chase in my mind depending on the trip Gordon thinks he needs. When he wins one of those with his head in his chest he'll be Gold Cup bound in 2022.
Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

.............or just back to a Handicap Hurdle if any Chase plans don't work out the way they wanted.

                            • Absolutely. Imagine the scenes when he's approaching the final hurdle in the 2021 Martin Pipe
