If the cap fits next race is likely to be at wincanton for the rising stars novices chase. Again over 2 mile 4. Maybe they are planning to keep over 2m 4. Would have thought 3 miles would be more for him but maybe not.

He's probably a shoe-in to go for the Sciliy Isles chase too given the Suede/Munir's results there previously. The race planner must like the race...

Make a lot of sense.

Him vs fiddler in the scilly isles would be some rematch back at the scene of fiddlers finest hour. Even if his Tolworth win doesn’t look quite as good as it did at the time!

It's usually a pretty good British trial. I certainly like to have the winner of it backed each way for the Marsh prior. Which is always a bit of a gamble but has paid off previously.

The National Hunt Chase at Cheltenham is made for this lad. It's hard to believe it, but he didn't win over fences until July of this year, when he won over 2m5f at Killarney. He's won two soft races since. The plan was the Galway Plate but we had to rule him out on the morning of the race, which was unfortunate. I'd say there's a nice pot in him and the National Hunt Chase is the plan. He was second at Cheltenham last season and ran well there as a hurdler, so it seems the logical aim. There's a Grade 3 chase at Cork next month and we could run him in that before putting him away for Cheltenham.

Maybe looking at Handicap rating.
But could run if Gordon has twigged.
Has to finish in first four, and this race can often have only a handful of runners.
It would make sense.

Yep. There's a race for him at December meeting as well. They probably have twigged now. I expect these stable tour comments were made a few weeks back now.

I had If The Cap Fits down for the Kauto Star Novice Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day. (If they did follow the same path as Bags Groove that would still play out) Think the race will suit him and he'd be very hard to beat. Won the novice hurdle at that meeting and also came third 2 years ago in the Christmas Hurdle (his last try at 2 miles before stepping up). And I don't thing they'll be too much depth in the race this year.

But I do wonder if they may well go for the Dipper on New Years day over 2m4, which would rule the Kempton race out. There has to be a slight concern about the track (Cheltenham) given his below par run on his only visit. You'd have to think they'd be keen for another go there before the festival. And the Scilly Iscles definitely looks likely in February so he could very well not step up to 3 miles before March. The 33/1 with WH for the Marsh is tempting, but I still favour him being best suited for the RSA so will hold fire for now.

Tizzard has a good record in the race doesn’t he. A couple of wins and a place over the last few seasons. Could see him sending Harry senior there as I think the big breakaway would be better on a more galloping track. But there’s every chance you’re right. Whatever he runs will be of interest.

I agree hell likely run but it's hard to come up with 6 or 7 runners at this stage. On what we have to go on so far it's heavily Irish dominated in terms of the top level 3 mile novice chasers. I'd have ITCF favourite and the most likely winner in the race even with TBB.
