It seems to be a race you need a bit of maturity to win, like Topofthegame & Champ had in recent years, 6 year olds have terrible record & most of the top of the market are 6 year olds, Dickie Diver obviously lacks experience but should be physically more mature than most.
But won't they be 7 by the time the race comes around?

I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure a horses age changes every January 1st, regardless of what day/month it was born.

So any horse born in 2014 will immediately be 7 years of age come January 1st 2021.

        • Your probably right actually, now that I think of it I may be getting a bit particular regarding foaling dates.

            • Darver Star running tomorrow. Exit Poll and Conflated also in the same race. Got to be handicap in Conflated when he goes back over hurdles.

Had planned to come on to say that 33s (35s boosted) for the Marsh looked a decent price for Darver Star especially as connections indicated in the summer the plan to step him up in trip, but looks like they got the meat cleaver out after I placed some bets

                • Joined the 66/1 (0.5pt) FJ charge on Dickie Diver for the RSA. Like that Henderson doesn't appear to have one already for this and can't see him going 4 miler due to Hendos dislike of that race. Plus his 4th in the Albert now looks outstanding form ! Good spot whoever came up with this one first.

Ouch cut before he’s even ran over fences. I Think they had slipped up with the 33’s to be honest, was much too big once they confirmed chasing was the plan. 25/1 is still fair, could see him going 16’s with a good round of jumping and a win.

I think there’s more then a few already on from the forum, me included

                    • How confident are you it will step up? Arkle still shorter and priced up in more places

Ladbrokes go 33/1 which can also be boosted to 35/1 which I've just had a very small bet on. Obviously without cash out though, which is why I kept stakes to a minimum, but 10pts difference to the nearest price, so I'm happy to take the risk.

                        • I've probably said it earlier but I didn't read the connections' comments as anything like indicating that Darver Star would go for the Marsh, just that he might be better over further than 2 miles. Assuming that he jumps well, I'd expect him to run several times over distances between 2m and 2m4f but come March he will run in the easier option, ie the Arkle.

Wouldn’t disagree with that Archie, personally have it around 50:50. I think he’d be likely to step up if it wasn’t for EA’s likely presence in the Marsh. Have backed for both with cash out so just hoping for a decent debut over fences tomorrow

Need to keep reminding myself to check the price with Laddies/Coral especially when NRNB kicks in
