I only said he was chancy at a few? the mistake 4 out like you say and he reached at the last? Does that not make him chancy at a few? I didnt say he fiddled his way all the way round. He was outjumped by the 2nd horse early on but improved as the pace picked up and the race went on, which is exactly what i wrote?

    • FD looked to travel much more settled today, he is going to be a really interesting recruit to novice chasing this season.

Jumped well enough for a novice, first time out, didn’t have to lead, he let the runner-up go past at one point.

I don’t think he looked a runaway on today’s evidence.

You'd hope he had plenty left in the tank, second was rated exactly 100

        • Interesting that Patrick Mullins actually name drops The Big Getaway as the one he hopes in the NH CHase ride.
Does also say he could easily end up in the RSA with Monkfish too though...

Decent chasing debut - nothing flashy, a bit awkward at one or two fences but he got the job done with the minimum of fuss.

He's obviously over that nasty fall at Galway and at the very least this keeps him in the mix for the Arkle.

Great call at 40-1 Saxon. It's gonna be fun watching him (hopefully) progress.

Soz, perhaps I was a little harsh. I take it back.

I'd be happy with TBG in the NHC. Would easily be the highest rated and would make the RAB top 4 with PTKO look even better ! Mullins has a hell of a lot of juggling to do. Nice problem to have though.

                            • No mention from Patrick re Aione for the NHC. Just that he hoped TBG would go that route. Monkfish in the RSA sounds a cert though

                              • Felix D....

Kennedy said: “All he had to do was jump round really and he put in a brilliant round of jumping. He was a little bit long at the last down the back, but other than that he was brilliant.

“He is unbelievable over a fence so he’ll be exciting going back into better races again.”

Elliott, by telephone, added: “That was great and I’m delighted with him.

“There is a graded race next week, but that will come too soon and he will probably be aimed at the Craddockstown Novice Chase at Punchestown in November.”
