I'd say the Darver Star call is very much 50:50 at the moment. For all the quotes, his best hurdles form is over a stiff 2 miles and you'd think that the distance of his first chase will be decided by when he comes to hand. If he turns out to be a quick jumper, I think that he'll end up in the Arkle because jumping ability is more important over 2 miles and the current favourite wasn't a great jumper of hurdles. Certainly, if Envoi Allen looks like going for the Marsh, the Irish novices in particular will be looking at the other options.

I have got him backed for both at the moment though, for obvious reasons as it's unlikely he's going to be stones clear of his own form at a different trip.

Has anyone heard anything regarding King Rolands well-being?
He’s one I am definitely interested in going novice chasing.
Harry Fry was extremely disappointed when he was beat at Cheltenham but given he ran up the hill with what sounded like quite a serious injury was staggering to finish second even.
Marsh or RSA I’d imagine.

The Envoi Allen debate (and many others) will rumble on until the final decs are out. It's the same for the majority of horses who are embarking on novice hurdle or chase campaigns. There will be a few horses who will be easier to predict targets for as they are out and out two milers or slow old boats, but in the main, most novices in each discipline will start the season off without a fixed target and things will remain fluid until nearer the festival; You pays your money and you takes your choice.

Yeh im pullin legs about the marsh/RSA debate of course! No one will know and itll come down to weather id imagine..i actually think the big getaway will be mullins number 1 for the RSA in the end..im impressed with monkfish of course but the way the big getaway ran in the ballymore was just as impressive and he strikes me as a big puppy who will improve for a trip..his jumping was also very good in the ballymore as opposed to monkfish who nearly made a couple of race ending mistakes
