When I saw the result I assumed that was the case. It happens to some horses, they are talented hurdlers but just struggle to jump bigger obstacles at pace. I went for the TWAR option just incase so have a handicap hurdles race at the festival to fall back on but at this point I think it’s a bad bet and hold the minimal hope for Getaway Trump getting to next years festival if he can win a 3 horse beginners chase second year of trying

    • I wouldn't be at all surprised to see G Trump go back over hurdles and be aimed at the big Spring handicaps. He has some top hurdle form behind the likes of Champ in the Challow when he looked all over the winner and beating Galvin by an easy 6 lengths at Ayr.

I agree Lobos and he will win a few races this season but I don’t think he will be appearing at the Festival

          • Anybody heard any news on the Mullins horse - Energumene, very lightly raced. Will he go Novice chasing this year, possible Arkle bound??

Though I see PP are the biggest at 40/1 compared to Bet365 at 25/1. Tony Bloom owned and will be 7 next year.

Only 4 races that I can see, won his PTP and won his maiden hurdle. 2 NHF races with a win and 3rd.

Interested to hear if any noise from the up coming stable tour about this horse.

Energumene was one I was interested as well this year. Not sure about the arkle though, looking at one of the bumpers and his hurdle race in Gowran it seemed to me he would want further than 2m.

The OJA book a couple of years ago had very positive comments on him as well. Would be interesting to see where they start him out.

Simply put, I just don’t think he’s good enough.

He makes hard work of just about everything he does, he’s never shown any form that makes him look good enough for a top handicap let alone a Grade 1, has often had injury setbacks throughout his career and also his trip is abit of an unknown. Move on lads, case closed.

                • The likes of Gigginstown and Trevor Hemmings selling off several of their horses today including Petit Mouchoir, Burbank and Mengli Khan. Tough times.

                  • Gigginstown have had the same level and amount of horses for sale every year.

Mengli Khan for £65k seemed a good buy for someone.

                    Dortmund Park £1500. Wow.

Haha sense a bit of tongue in cheek here, very hard to actually know how good or bad he is...there are quite a few in the sphere whereby they haven't had full seasons with WPM because of the season before last and then this year + COVID. Hard to gauge.

                        • Aramax runs again over 2m 4f i think he has alot of ability..he jumped himself to the front in his last race and had every chance but got eased up by the jockey! Is he likely to be some sort of handicap plot? Possibly for the novice handicap..a bit like Galvin last year

It seems that Elliott has taken on Cuneo fro De Bromhead, 8 years old now but wasn't too long ago that it finished 3.5 lengths behind SDB in the Pertemps

MOM I think it is too soon to write him off yet, only had 4 career runs and will be interested in entries over the coming months and any positive noise from the stable tour.

Yeah I would think through time they will go up in trip, IMO they will start over the 2M trip and see how it goes.

                              • Warren Greatrex just tweeted a clip of Emitom schooling over fences, starting him off at Uttoxeter in October. Personally think he’s just below top class for something like the RSA but I know he has his fans on here
