dont worry there's still plenty of 7s for the race he'll actually run in

You joke but he's not exactly been weak in that market in the last few days. Perhaps people covering any Marsh losses.

No joke, ive got him covered via 10pts anyrace, but topped up significantly on RSA, i consider RSA the more likely target

When you've watched Envoi Allen race, does he look like he wants further at the moment to you?

If Gordon Elliott hadn't said a couple of years ago "he's a future Gold Cup horse" would you feel the same?

He said that about Samcro before embarking on a Champion Hurdle campaign.
He also said Apple's Jade will either run in the Mares Hurdle or nowhere at all at Cheltenham.

He chats shit, as all trainers do

One potential positive about the 7/1 would be having cashout, as he'll likely shorten for the RSA as well after his debut... so you could end up creating a 'free' stab at the RSA?

Worth considering for sure, even for people that are confident he's going to the Marsh Novice Chase.

More than one way to make a few quid.

Absolutely. Stick to your guns kid. Works out in the long run.

                • I can't see him running in the RSA, and I'm with the majority that feel he's most likely to run in the Marsh. He just doesn't need to go up in trip at this stage. They can extend him out at Aintree or Punchestown if they really want to. Why have a harder race than necessary when he'll surely have one more target by the end of the season. If he goes to the RSA I'll be left scratching my head why I think. Given all the conventional wisdom is the same I'd be fairly sure the pressure on Gordon will be too great not to run in the Marsh. If he didn't perform on the day in the RSA he'd be open to a huge amount of criticism. Also he has a whole host of viable horses for both the RSA and NH Chase, so irrespective of the owners you'd think he's lean that way himself anyway.

I do have the same dilemma as most though. The 'what if?' is still hanging over me. I'm not prepared to put a significant bet on him in the RSA on a single as cover. If I miss cash out I'm probably chasing 30-40 points before I start, which is what it would take now to cover off a good chunk of my position. I may create a position with a small number of strategic multiples for less outlay, but at this stage I'm okay with keeping my powder dry on it I think.
Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

                  • I have nothing really insightful to add (nothing new there!) regarding EA but if the ground is soft like it was this year and last year I think he is 90% likely to run in the marsh, if it is genuinely good to soft or better (which it very rarely is) then there has to be a fair chance he ends up in the RSA. That said, the Marsh still has to be the most likely option.

                    • Does anyone know who the online bookmaker ‘Sport Pesa’ are ?
They’ve got Samcro in their RSA market, cannot believe Oddschecker have let this slip onto their platform...

...I think they’re originally an African betting firm. They sponsored Everton until recently.

                        • They're also quoting 33/1 for dynamite dollars to win the Champion Chase. Feels a little short to me...

                          • Is there any news on Diol Kerr ? Season cut short last year. Look a real staying chaser prospect. Beat Monkfish first time up easily on heavy. He'd have to have a serious chance in the RSA based on that. Trainer spoke very highly of him as well. Said he'd go right to the top. Another that's on my radar is Cedarwood Road. Was really impressive at Leopards town, won by 11 lengths and then got up on line to win with a bit in hand at Naas. Have watched those races back and he looks to have a serious future. Unfashionable trainer as well so good prices to be had. Not sure where he'll end up though, looks big enough for fences. Could be an Arkle prospect maybe. Thoughts anyone?

I'd be wary taking the Diol Ker/Monkfish form too literally as I think Monkfish progressed heaps throughout the season and wasn't it over 2m4? Interesting horse though going forward.
I reckon fences would suit Cedarwood Road and a step up in trip. Marsh as an early guess, though it's early days.
Both are interesting Lobos and probably under the radar

I couldn’t back Diol Ker as he’s with the wrong trainer and it’s a hot looking RSA this season.
