• Good performance from if the cap fits. Am toying with backing for the RSA. He’s every inch a 3 miler chaser in the making.

The only thing putting me off is his dire run in the cleeve last year. Think I’m prepared to forgive him one bad run but no rush to back today.

Was pleased with how fiddler ran. Jumped brilliantly and will have learned a lot today.

Emitom needs a step up in trip and would be on the shortlist for the ultima or 4 miler but on his 2 chase runs to date I don’t think he’s an RSA horse.

Top rated hurdler that has gone novice chasing.... always worth looking at.

I backed him originally for the RSA back in July, thinking that is where he'd go, but took the advice on here to back him for the Marsh as well.

The double green's like the Marsh

The Cheltenham run has to be of some concern, however, I think that excuse by the trainer was trotted out due to pandering to the Rooney's who think horses aren't safe there?

He didn't perform that day, but I wouldn't write him off.

Not sure where he'll slot into the pecking order, but it was a good run.

Fiddlerontheroof wasn't disgraced either. Won't be cashing him out.

Nicholls talking him up, and having him fit first time out is going to over egg his actual chance.

It's recorded on these meaningless pages that I didn't think he was a good Cheltenham bet last year, yet still backed him (33/1 ) when he picked up his big win.

          He isn't a grade 1, festival horse.

Almost embrassingly, I've backed him for the Arkle, I'll let him win on debut and keep the bet, but I should cash out really....if I remember how gambling works.
.... and the bet has been cashed out ....

No positives from that run for Pic D'Orhy

          • Didn’t jump well, didn’t travel particularly well, might come on for the run and potentially benefit from a step up in trip but he won’t be seeing another penny of my money. Which is in short supply after yesterday and reversals for Verdana Blue and Pic!

            • I've added Next Destination @ 33/1 for the RSA.

He was a leading fancy for the RSA Chase @ 10/1 Willie before getting injured and it didn't sound too serious. "Next Destination has had a setback. It's not serious but we've decided to treat it and leave him alone for the rest of this season. He'll go novice chasing next season"

He's now with Paul Nichols and looking through Pauls stable tours, I couldn't figure out who his RSA horse would be - providing he is fit and well has to be this fella no?

He was a very good horse for Willie Mullins a couple of years ago but has had a lot of time off. Touch wood he seems to be ok at the moment and hopefully if we can get him to the track, he retains a lot of ability. Will go novice chasing

Paul does so well with staying chasers and Next Destination has some decent hurdle form in the book. Clearly handles Cheltenham having finished 4th in the Bumper and then 3rd in the Ballymore. Was a grade 1 winner over 2m4f and then beat Delta Work over 3m at Punchestown.

If I remember correctly he was really well fancied on here for this last year and he's kind of the forgotten horse IMO

              • Fine start by If The Cap Fits to his novice chase career despite stuttering into the first. Understand peoples concern in regard to the Cleeve Hurdle last January but that was a slowly run race on very soft ground. Summerville Boy was allowed to control it from the front at a dawdle, then quickened the pace before the 2nd last. ITCF was caught flat footed and got shuffled back. He may not have handled the downhill too well on his first run at Cheltenham but stayed on well when meeting the rising ground . Beaten 7 1/2l by PP just 3l behind Lisnagar.

More than happy with my 40/1 RSA (not covered for Marsh) and got out of Emitom for 95%

I like him my issue is that's he's missed 2 seasons in a row now so he must have had a few setbacks. For that reason I'd want bigger than 33s but I'll be hovering Iver it when he does finally run over fences as I think the talent is definitely there.

                    • If the cap fits next race is likely to be at wincanton for the rising stars novices chase. Again over 2 mile 4. Maybe they are planning to keep over 2m 4. Would have thought 3 miles would be more for him but maybe not.

Alan King’s Sceau Royal made a triumphant return to action in the Potter Group Welsh Champion Hurdle at Ffos Las.

Yep same here, generally happy to give a novice another go but looked slow and clumsy at most of his fences and already not quick enough at 2m it appears

Don't think they ever said. Not what I wanted to hear anyway. Where has it been said?

                              RP stable tour.

Not good news, not often they come back as good. Maybe he will who knows.

He's a good horse. He chased home Envoi Allen in the Ballymore last season and that's good form. We're looking forward to seeing what he can do over fences and he stays well.

Where does this fella fit in?"stays well", not Envoi clearly. Too keen for 3miles nah?
