Terrible news . He was one of my biggest fancies in the race along with latest Exhibition. Thanks for the early info everyone! Saved me 4 points with the cash out. That’s why this forum rocks.
Surely not commander of fleet after the last day. Cobbler’s way should get the 3 miles no problem his running in the Bartlett was too bad to be true id chance him at the 50/1 but I know a lot are sceptical of Cheltenham flops & still to see an entry for him yet.
got to be pencilfulloflead for Gordon now, hasn’t it?
Might they think about graduating Fury Road to chasing if he doesn't hit the standard over the xmas? Stayers hurdle seems very competitive all of a sudden.
I’m gutted for poor Easy Work, I hope he didn’t suffer. I thought he was a very talented horse and was a big fancy of mine for this seasons Festival. Just totalled up a 7pt loss for singles, doubles and trebles for me.
Sorry was referring to the Elliot options, should have made that clear. No idea what Gigginstown will do... wasn't Column of Fire going to go novice chasing at some point?
I wouldn’t know too much about the training side of things but the issue with column of fire & fury road is that (outside of p2ps for fury road) they’ve never jumped fences before, it’s not the same as aborting a novice chasing campaign & reverting to hurdles, the time just wouldn’t be there to have them ready to be competitive at the top level in March.
column of fire iirc didn’t go novice chasing this season because he was sore for a long time after his fall in the pipe & it took him so long to get back into doing work that they decided to stay over hurdles for the time being at least.

You're almost definitely right, especially with Fury Road as chasing was never mentioned. I just have in the back of my head that the RSA was considered at some point for Column of Fire, so they may well have at least schooled him over fences. I don't think it would be a good idea to switch him regardless.
Diol Ker is probably another one in the mixer for Gigginstown but he looked a long way from an RSA contender so far.

Diol Ker and Run Wild Fred were ones with high expectations heading into this season but have shown little so far
