Intelligent round of jumping from Monkfish, very happy with that, he winged a couple he met on a good stride but popped over a few nicely when he got in close to but always got away quickly from them. He’s gotten even bigger from last year hasn’t he, lovely big rangy type!

Very good from Monkfish, very tidy over his fences, as expected, but there is something that doesn't get me quite as excited as watching, say the Shishkin performance, maybe it's just the pace they go over further. I wouldn't say I'm underwhelmed, but not quite the wow factor just yet. Let's not take away from the fact he's beat some fairly useful horses there though.

That was beautiful. Nice start to hopefully a cracking 2 days . IMO it also increases the chances of The BIg Getaway going for the 4 miler.

Yeah I think it’s pace CoD, personally there’s no better sight in racing than seeing top class 2m chasers taking off at proper racing speed...

Sams Profile has an unusually low head carriage, which may have made Monkfish’s look high in comparison FM. He’s a huge horse, must be at least 16 hands, it looked in proportion to me.
