  • Wouldn't like Darver for any race if he continues to jump like that

    • Jack Kennedy on Felix Desjy
      @punchestownrace
      : “He's gone very relaxed now which is great because if something comes to take him on he's not tearing away with you, that's a great help. He put in a great round of jumping and I was delighted with him. He's deadly over a fence."

      Willie Mullins - Asterion Forlonge
      @punchestownrace
      : “It was satisfactory introduction & I'll be going out in trip with him now, it'll be minimum 2.5m for rest of year. I'd say longer trip will be help going left-handed. We'd have time for run before Christmas but not essential.”

        He rode differently to how he looked then Jack Didn't look 'deadly over a fence', but as a backer I'll let it slide

          I need to watch it back but first impressions were that he was low and seemed to dive at the fences a bit.

          He'll be one for the novice chase at Leopardstown on boxing Day, won't he?

          • Everyone will talk about Gumball falling but I thought Eldoraldo Allen jumped superbly

            • Gumball fell too early to know whether Eldorado Allen would have got there then...

              Gutted I didn't back Eldorado Allen today

              Was only 25/1 prior to that race though which wasn't big enough to get excited about.

              Fusil Raffles was pants.

                I only really watched him over the last few but will watch back for that.

                Tempted to back him?

                Tizzard almost certain to send him for the Arkle even if he's beaten 200L next time out based on today lol

                  He was very good indeed. Shame they both didn’t stand up and see the finish fought out.

                  • Eldorado looks a natural jumper.
                    How far that'll take him, I'm not sure.
                    But as Fusil Raffles showed, if you makes mistakes then it gets tough.

                    • A part from Fussil Raffles, I thought they all jumped well there. It would be a surprise to me if any of them were fighting out a finish in the Arkle/Marsh.

                      • Glad Fusil Raffles didn't show up well there as I feel if he had Nicky would have carried on down the 2m route. Step up in trip surely likely now

                          The way Felix finished I think the Cheltenham hill will suit him better than a flat track like Aintree.

                          Also, there's no way the course management will allow the Arkle to be run on ground any firmer than good to soft.

                          So that'll bring his stamina into play.

                          Judging from Shishkin's run in the Supreme -where he got outpaced in the back straight - Felix's style of running could give him a few problems.

                            Glad might be a bit strong.

                            He flopped big time today so that's not a positive for any trip.

                            Darver Star's performance was better than Fusil Raffles'?

                              Thought on chase debut quel destin jumped very well

                              Just made a mistake at the worst possible time that knocked the stuffing out of him

                                They both looked a long way from being arkle/Marsh contenders
