If you look how he’s been campaigned this season as a novice he’s got a very similar profile to Ravenhill in that way, both were summer jumpers as novice chases, both ran well in open company in ‘National’ races despite their novice status (Ravenhill lost by a head in the Kerry National and Aforementioned recently won the Munster National), and Ravenhill ran in the Troytown for which Aforementioned has just received an entry.

He should have no problem at all staying the 3m6 at all to my eye, and his victory in the Munster National looked easier than the winning margin alone suggests, I’m sure he could be even better than his current rating of 136. Obviously there has been no comment or suggestion that this race could be a target so it’s speculative but worth getting on side at 50/1 imo. Also worth noting that 3 out of Gordon’s 4 winners in this had summer campaigns and relatively quiet winters the season they won (Chicago Grey, Tiger Roll & Ravenhill)
Just on this theory - would he potentially be a Kim Muir horse for him?

Ravenhill was being plotted towards the Kim Muir before a late switch when Champagne Classic was ruled out?

    Interesting nonetheless

      • EA declared with a tongue tie, is that a first for him does anyone know? If so, is that a worry?

Absolutely could be - he’s one I’m keeping an eye on in general. I’d say if the Kim Miur is the target, he wouldn’t want to be winning again before Cheltenham as he must be close to 145 as is when you consider the ‘cheating Irish’ tax from the handicapper.

Others are far better versed than me on such matters but some horses have a tendency to run with their tongues hanging out the side of their mouth and it can be a distraction so applying the tongue tie effectively just keeps it in their mouths, also this prevents the tongue from getting over the bit.
It's not usually seen as a flaw with the horse...

            • First time yeah, just like Samcro. No mention of having the breathing/wind problems the latter has so hopefully not a huge issue

                • I was hoping for some content on Latest Exhibition......I thought he warmed to the task really well & ran out a decent winner. He looks a defo NHC horse to me. Surely Galvin will be far to ploddy for LE

Latest Exhibition's beginners chase delivered what I expected.

                    A grinding performance.

My immediate thought was a NHC type that may only stay 3M.

I was hoping for a bit more from him in all honesty he got the job done and was solid enough I just expected him to look classier than he did.

Looked to me like he'd stay 4m.....Grindings good when you've backed him for the NHC

                        • Happy with LE first chase run. Bit of a problem at the 2nd but fine after that. Drifted left at most of his fences but thats fine. Interesting that Cooper kept him back on the rail despite that tendency. Lot more difficult first time out than Envoi has tomorrow

                          • Got the job done but wouldn't fill with me with too much confidence. The only thing was that he settled and jumped well after a poor start

                            • I really liked LE yesterday. He has the attributes I'd be looking for in an RSA horse. I'd be surprised if they were considering the NHC at this stage.

                              • I really liked LE as well, further he went better he looked. I could see him even going to the NHC
