Looks bred for staying chasing and I think they thought he was the second coming before he got beat on trials day.
Not backed him myself, just wondered.
Huge fan, Quevega.
He travelled like the best in the horse in that race and having been injured for the rest of the season - maybe he got injured in the straight as was a very strange 'fold'.
Was weird how H.Fry quickly dismissed King Roland for March after not winning on trials day, I had hoped Harry Senior would run a decent race in the AB but so many of Tizzards went awol as we know. The more times you watch back trials day race the more times I wonder if Sean didn't quite pick up where Robbie went, still the finishing effort was tame. If In a hcap hurdle you'd like to think 140 wasn't his ceiling before novice chasing thou.
Im just watching all of Easywork's videos again, and his RPR's in his first 4 hurdle races were only bettered (as a group of ratings) by Envoi Allen all season. Shishkin did better in his three runs too.
Easywork pulled a bit through the first part of the Ballymore, and was still able to pull away from The Big Getaway from the last.
I am thinking that Easywork and the Big Getaway have, at this point, at least as likely a chance in the RSA as the 3 Bartlett horses (and are 33/1 and 25/1 in the odd place c/w 10s to 16s for the Bartlett boys).
If we think that the best novice hurdlers should be among the favs for the three Novice Chases then Easywork should be close to fav for the RSA (W/O Envoi Allen).
Giggy's tend to buy staying chasing types, and I am would like to think that Easywork was a better novice hurdler than Delta Work, is from the same sire (Network), stable and owner as Delta Work and may be able to equal or better what DW did in the RSA.
Just watched Easywork's videos again too Saxon and agree he will take some beating in the RSA. He's a relentless galloper with a touch of class and strikes me it's a fair guess at this stage that the RSA will be his target and Envoy will aim for the Marsh.
He ran a cracking race in the Ballymore and certainly wasn't stopping at the line. As you point out, he looked much better at two-and-ahalf than over the minimum trip this season and seems much more likely to wind up in the Gold Cup than the Ryanair in a couple of years.
Feeling excited already to have him on board at 33s, all thanks to you. Love to see Davy on board next March.
He’s a horse that could’ve been really exciting last year, same this year.
You’d hope a fence might reduce his tendency to pull (and pull hard).
Wonder if the yard might consider the Arkle if he’s still keen and let him race prominently?

I wrote a piece (last) pre-season about King Roland being an AB fancy for me. He had a strange season that ended in injury on trials day. To be honest, after seeing the big trainers getting stronger in 2020 and the fact I think the staying division will be deep in class this season, he won’t make my shortlist again.

Very kind words indeed, Nortons,
Having backed him 5 weeks ago, I felt it odd that the Bartlett became (and still is) an all-consuming focus at the top of the RSA market, and felt it odd that Easywork was being completely ignored in the market.
A full check over the form, ratings, breeding and most importantly the videos, led me to take another crack at the 33/1 again.
The fact he is trained by Gordon Elliott is a big bonus too.
Easywork jumped brilliantly for Jack Kennedy over 2M4F when breaking the Unexcepted bubble by 22 lengths, and either Jack or Davy would be great on board in the RSA.
I really dont see the O'Leary's being interested in letting Easywork take on Envoi Allen in the Marsh.
25/1 for the RSA, or 16/1 To Win Any Race, to my mind, is still one of the best long-range antepost bets in the current Cheltenham markets.
I don't think he is small horse (which has been quoted here) but I do think he looked smaller than The Big Getaway when running upsides and just behind him for over 2 miles at Cheltenham.
Any horse would look small compared with The Big Getaway, and for nimbleness reasons, I would rather have an Easywork-sized horse than a huge horse.
Going to put something out there that I don't think anyone's mentioned. I'm far from convinced that Appreciate It will stay hurdling. Mullins sent Cheltenham Bumper winner Florida Pearl straight over fences the following season when he duly won the RSA. I'm thinking he could do the same with AI. He's already won a point, he's a huge beast who looks certain to be a better horse over the bigger obstacles and the biggest factor for me is that he'll be 7 come March. They see him as a future staying chaser so I don't see the point spending a season hurdling as he'll be 8 in his novice chase season. I've backed him for the RSA at 50's as he doesn't have the pace to go Arkle/Marsh and I can't see him going NHC. Any thoughts??
Interesting angle.
If he does go chasing, retaining the partnership with Patrick Mullins would perhaps be a consideration though, in the NH Chase?
50/1 though with cashout, certainly peaked my interest.
Yep, good point. He did strike me as looking very one paced (albeit a decent one paced!) In the Bumper and when he was beaten in his point by Envoi so extreme distances would suit.

Lobos,
I think at that age, he should be going chasing asap.
The owners only have two or three horses, and had Carefully Selected run 2nd in the Champion Bumper in 2018, with a near identical profile to their Appreciate It.
2 runs over P2P's (Form 31- Appreciate It RPR 90, Form 21 - Carefully Selected RPR 91)
4 runs in Bumpers
2 Bumper Wins & 2 Bumper Places (Appreciate It RPR 138 - Carefully Selected RPR 142)
2nd in the Festival Bumper at age of 6
Carefully Selected lost his first season out of Bumpers, and reappeared aged 7 on 17th March in a Maiden Hurdle win, before 3rd in a Grade 1 at Punchestown over 3M behind Minella Indo.
We all saw Carefully Selected's Novice Chase season, 3 wins, building up in distance, before a tired 3rd, when falling in the NH Chase.
I dont know if he would have gone chasing straight after bumpers, but his late start left him as a delayed hurdles runner.
Definitely can see a rationale given his age to try chasing, and WPM should know the likely strength of novice chasers next season.
A National Hunt Chase plan could be hatched, unless Carefully Selected's performance put them off.
This sort of debate is where the Forum excels, thank you Lobos.

He's quite clever too.
I was impressed by much of his hurdling but he didn't get them all right.
And when Easywork got in too close - which he did on several occasions - he looked after himself and fiddled his way over.
Decent thought train on AI that Lobos, could be right given the age and time off he's had.Nice follow up Saxon, certainly food for thought if he does another Mullins chaser to slot in for next season.
