Quite impressed with Santa Rossa yesterday in the Mares Bumper. This is a key race for the festival, as Mares do rather well.
She is a good mare indeed.
Bit early to be calling it a key race. This race only turned into a mares only race recently- below are the winners of the race. Not a key race just yet!

Slight overstatement on my part. I should have said Mares have a very good record in the Champion Bumper. Although I do see 1 fez Bumper winner in that list, which I backed.
I am still banging the drum for Paul Nicholls ASK FOR GLORY for this. I’ve had my fingers crossed for over a month that he got a run in the Newbury Bumper on Betfair Hurdle day, and he has an entry, and is some way clear on RPR’s. He won in Soft ground on his Chepstow debut, so the change to softer ground this week shouldn’t inconvenience him. Hoping for an impressive win, and the trainer confirming that all roads lead to the last race on Wednesday at the Festival.

The form of the race hasn't been tested yet - only 1 runner of the 7 rivals he faced has had a run since, (Born To Sting who was 6/8) - and he came 14th of 16 beaten 68L by Howling Milan
Doesn't prove he's not good either, just impossible to know where he is?
Any news Energumene?
Looking doubtful, disappointing, especially after Lacey’s comments.
If he hasn't got an entry/run before 13th Feb I'll cash him out.
That's now my cut off, based on the 4 weeks rest that archie mentioned that Willie would usually like to give a horse off. The absolute latest I'd want to see him run by is Sunday 17th Feb.
Does anyone know if Energumene had an injury which has caused him not to be out or is it just that he arrived late to Willie's? (or something completely else!)
Brought by JP I believe now. Can't knock the debut, and will get an age allowance I believe. Has to be of interest IMO, though not a market I am heavily involved in now.
