  • Would you conclude that Mt. Leinster is just not good enough?

I have him in a couple of bets so thinking of cashing out a couple.

I've just taken on a couple more clients at work, so my only insights are from reading here, and listening to podcasts when I'm driving.

Probably for the best, as I'm clueless and only think myself into knots

I wouldn't completely rule him out.
Patrick was very easy on him when he knew he was beat (well beat)
Willie will not be shy of running 4 or 5 in the bumper so you'll likely get a run for your money.
And Willie's bumper horses are hard to rank and often don't run at the festival in order of SP or who Patrick rides.

As a caveat though, It does look like being different this year as Gordon looks like getting serious with the race.

        • I doubt very much he'll be sent to Cheltenham, Willie does like to send horses that have won their races and bring a 100% record to the track.

          • Although not quite as impressive as some of the early contenders from Ireland, Tom Lacey had an impressive winner of the bumper at Ascot on Saturday called Hazzaar. He travelled into the race nicely but was a little green and took a while to put the race to bed. Some things to note that may or may not prove useful:

1.) The horse was backed into favouritism despite never seeing the track before.

2.) Noel Fehily took the reins.

3.) I’ve since read quotes that Hazzaar is as good as they’ve had in the yard (Up there with Sebastopol).

4.) Although Sebastopol blotted his copy book on his debut over hurdles, most would agree his bumper win at Ayr was impressive.

5.) They are considering coming back to Ascot for the listed bumper.

I wouldn't rule him out either. Raced far too keenly vs MR. Yes, MR was impressive, but ML took a strong pull the whole way round and as Quevega says Patrick was very easy on him when he knew he was beat

Himself and the likes of fury road, I wouldn't be backing them for this. O'leary would laugh if you mentioned them in the same sentence as the bumper. Felix desjy was a €14,000 store horse. These lads are future staying chasers.

Moon racer was easy enough. Ballyandy. The last 2 wouldn't have been on many people's radar.

                          • Do we think Chevely Park will want to run all 3 horses in the bumper should the two left to run prove good enough?

                            • Envoi Allen & Fury Road entered up on the weekend

                              • Lovely bumper tomorrow at Punchestown, albeit quite unlikely to have something targeted at this.

Pragmatic entered up and Bacardys relative too on Saturday....

                                Thank you rain!
