Mullins gave him a little mention at chelt few weeks ago seemed genuine and of the cuff. They paid a lot for him.

I wouldn't be tipping him up but hes one i personally want to take a chance on.

      • Just caught up with the rest of the racing and just watched this. Very impressive from the winner.... very hard to see those tables being turned in the big one. Think I will probably cash out at least half my stake on Mt Leinster.

Think he looks very short mind you. Wouldnt be overly keen on a flat bred in this race myself... its often a future stayer that wins it.

        • Fortunately got most of my bumper position with 365. You’d have to be disappointed the way Malone sped past him, for all Patrick took it easy after. I’m happy to keep hold of Mt. Leinster to see how he develops over the next few months. He looked a little keen to me today.

I’ve also got bets on Energumene and now Envoi Allen, couldn’t help but notice the glint in Gordon’s eye when he was asked if there were any others to come.

          • I’ve posted this a few times but I think that Envoi Allen is most likely to prove the classier of the two horses long term but Malone Road, with his more traditional NH breeding will likely be most suited to Cheltenham and the more likely runner. It still would not surprise me if both ended up at Cheltenham but the owners could decide to split them as they are big supporters of the Aintree meeting.

            • Are we 100% sure that Envoi Allen will be kept to bumpers?

He’s in the top 3 for the Ballymore with some bookies.

Side note: Googled to see if I could find anything and this place was the 5th and 6th hit!

He'll deffinately run in a bumper next. I'd be almost certain he'll stay in bumpers for the season. But with 365 you wouldn't have to worry anyway

I didn't know that... why? (Not why as in WHY WOULD THEY BE?!, but how do you know?)

What's the actual question you're asking?

Bumping this with regards to Envoi Allen and Gordon mentioning a bumper for him.

What makes you say they are big supporters of the Aintree meeting?

Sorry I should have made that clearer

                        • They have revived their habit of buying horses just before the National in an attempt to win the race again (won with Party Politics in the 90's). The last two seasons they are back on the scene buying horses literally the week of the Grand National.

I'm not sure that makes them great supporters as such but it shows a liking for Aintree. Now they're investing big in younger horses they may want to head to Aintree with some of them as well.

It could be me getting five from two two's, but owners are often creature of habit.

                          • Reading between the lines I suspect Gordon doesn’t know which of them is better yet, which would explain why there was no real stable gamble before. He’s got a line on Malone Road, now we just need to see Envoi Allen (and whatever else) on the track

I imagine Gordon will have a very good idea

                              • Willie will have an idea of what he's got to beat now also, interesting to see what he fires in the coming weeks up to Christmas.
