Our replies must have crossed as I just posted there. Birchdale will not get any of my money until the RSA market opens for 2020.

I'm trying to keep myself in that camp too.

      Really trying.

But you’re usually so restrained in your betting

        • Fair play Jackie. Admirable restraint

Ive decided to take the 20/1 with Bet365 on both races... seems a no brainer as can cash out whichever he doesnt go for.

Been saying this for quite a while now. I can see 'why' he is short for this race, but as an overall profile (not his race antics), he should be going for the AB.

He's going to trials day, where he's jarveys plate..... in opposition . He looks a 2 1/2 horse to me. But it's a long way to go to know if he'll be the 1st string. Hes faced little of top quality yet. Could easily get beat beforehand and birchdale go unbeaten. ....

                • Just a thought, but If CHAMP pulls over 2m4f then why would he go for the Albert Bartlett? If he pulled even more, because of the expected slower pace, he could get tailed off in that.

The Albert Bartlett is not run at snail pace, so, whilst he would do his usual pulling antics, I think it's more he's just a strong traveller than anything else.

I do get the concern about him beating himself during the race, but it is 3f further than the Ballymore not a mile or anything too drastic, he could see it out IMO.

                    • Champ must be the most overrated horse in training. Glad he will take a big chunk of the market.

Currently under priced, would not say overrated yet myself, still has plenty to prove and should not be so short for the Ballymore.

                          Hugh Taylor would disagree

Overrated based on what? He’s won every task he’s been set asides from a hard task on debut against a good horse.

There is a pattern here. JPs horses overbet/underpriced.
