Ballymore Novice Hurdle 2019

And i accept if it was the championship race there would be an easy decision to make. The fact remains it is just a novice hurdle(admittedly a high profile Cheltenham one), and its seems to me they want to look long term with Birchdale. If Champ got injured then i would certainly expect Birchdale to run however.

I get that they would ideally like to split them up but they have champagne platinum for the supreme and dickie diver for the AB. So if you was to move either champ and birchdale you're still going to have 2 for the same owner and trainer in the same race.....why not run 2 in this race if its the right race for these 2?....

Anyone heard anything on Brewin'upastorm's wellbeing? Just watched a clip from Olly Murphy's interview this morning, and I may be reading too much into it but he said (obviously gutted about what happened yesterday) that hopefully this time next year it would be a distant memory. Made me wonder why he just didn't say 'hopefully after this year's Ballymore/Festival' or words to that effect.

I think the shear volume of horses purchased recently by JP makes it inevitable that they will have to race against each other
Not sure of the actual numbers ( maybe scooby would know )
But Joseph o brien and Nicky Henderson must have about 20 juveniles each

Catching up on my races as I was at an away game on Saturday.
Spent the whole week convincing myself Jarvey's Plate was the answer, and it took Brew and Birchdale about 30 seconds to put him in his place!

I don't think that was his true running myself, and the clock would suggest that too.
On January 1st he ran over the same C&D, under the same conditions (officially stated), in 4m 59.70s, the weekend just gone Birchdale managed to win in 5m 5.10s, so can assume Jarvey's Plate was a good 4s (approx) behind Birchdale at around 5m 9s, some 10s slower than his previous, which as already stated was over C&D and same conditions. Obviously I know that no 2 races are the same, but it is there for thought.
I personally think the 5lb took its toll on him, and indeed any penalty for a novice hurdler to carry is, IMO, more penalising than a seasoned horse, as they are still only learning the game. But it is something he won't have to worry about at the festival.
I see he is now out to 33's which I think is quite the price myself.

Olly Murphy on Brewin'upastorm:
“He’s absolutely fine. He came home sound as a pound, and there’s not a bother on him,” said the Warwickshire-based trainer.
“It was disappointing, obviously, but that’s jumps racing for you. We’ll just move on and look forward to March.
“He’s not a bad jumper, and I don’t think he’s the kind of horse that would have his confidence knocked by a fall.
“We’ll get plenty of schooling into him between now and the Festival, and he’ll go straight there now.
“He’ll more than likely go for the Ballymore. He’ll be entered in a couple of handicaps – but the Ballymore is the plan.”
