It's all about on the day itself, Kevloaf. The horse isn't ground dependant and has a huge engine.

But Not sure where you've seen evidence of the huge engine, unless you're a mechanic ? and you've recently fitted one ?
I'd say more of a 1.4 litre myself

As I just posted, he's one of my winners...but I was hoping Henry turned him into a slick jumper, and he hasn't. His big engine couldn't get him ahead of Kalashnikov, Summerville Boy or Mengli Khan.... and they're all pants?

We Call them N*b eds where I'm from.
Footpad - 29.75mph arkle
Shattered Love - 28.9mph JLT
He'll feel like he's walking going that much slower FFSLast edited by Quevega; 20 February 2019, 09:45 PM.

I'm aware it's going to sound like a desperate need to get a Willie Arkle horse in the portfolio, but bare with me on Duc Des Genievres for a minute.
He's by the same sire as Dynamite Dollars (one time Arkle favourite) & Al Boum Photo, amongst others.
During his novice hurdle campaign he got the closest of any novice hurdlers to Samcro, excluding the festival itself, that same race he also ended up ahead of Paloma Blue, Sharjah & current Arkle favourite, Le Richebourg.
He was extremely highly tried as a novice hurdler, 4 Grade 1's & a Grade 2, one of his better runs being over the Arkle trip.
He has chase form with the horse a lot of us were hoping for, Cilaos Emery, when taking a wide path all the way round in that race.
He bolted up in a beginners chase LTO, over 2m 4f, on a galloping track, he is a keen goer normally, and Good - Good/Soft would not be a problem over a stiff 2m.
On ratings (for what they are worth) he was up there with the best of these over hurdles.
16/1 NRNB makes him overpriced, and quite possibly the only blessing from CE being injured is that it has made me look into him, otherwise I had not even considered him because of him already being beat by the one most of us wanted anyway.

I was very pleased with his performance at Gowran Park the other day and I’d imagine he’ll go to the Arkle Challenge Trophy now.
