Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

The temptation will be to hold him back for a novice chase campaign next season and is probably the reason he has been given a English and Irish champion hurdle entry.

    Hope you are right btw.
You could easily send him with 1 run, if thats what they want to do.
Melon went to the supreme with 1 run. He was beaten by the better horse on the day.

I'd fully expected him to get an entry for the CH. He's fully entitled to with his hurdles rating. Douvan, min, yorkhill all had Irish and English CH entries also.

Of course you could send him with one run but it's far from ideal. Well Chief is the only horse to win the Arkle with 1 run under his belt since I've been following the sport, and he was v talented.

Did Footpad get a champion hurdle entry last season?

Not similar in any way. Footpad had already proved himself over fences. Currently CE has not. What happens if he runs in a Beginners, jumps crap or falls? They need a back-up. With Footpad we already knew he was electric.

I don't remember Min, Douvan or Yorkhill getting champion hurdle entries during their novice chase campaigns either ( I could be wrong).

Perhaps it's because they are running out of time without CE and it is a safety net.

Thanks Bobby - I need to book myself in to see the therapist again. I'd erased that from my mind!

Exactly, as i said- if he runs next weekend, falls, they are probably going to draw stumps with chasing i'd suspect. Or if he jumps like a donkey.

                    Obsession?

It's a racing forum, CE is WPM's only likely 2m novice chaser, surely he deserves to be discussed.

What's bemusing about talking about a horse in the betting for the Arkle in an Arkle thread?

Or if they don't get him over fences at all, which is the point I was trying to make.

                            • I've still got that festival on my sky planner but I don't think I'm ready to watch it again. It'll be 5 years ago in March.

                              • It’s actually a fascinating race, WW jump at the last and the speed he goes away from it to draw level is phenomenal
