plenty of winners he can give to Paul, If VDR was the arkle horse im sure Ruby would want the ride.

Betfair have pushed Getabird out to 14/1 (and top industry price) for this, in view of their so called links to Elliott/Mullins maybe a telling sign that it won't be him turning up for this race?
He's done nothing wrong in the interim, so no real reason to push him out from 11's, is there?Last edited by ComplyOrDie; 20 December 2018, 03:42 PM.

Cilaos Emery (Mullins in the RP today)
I'm pretty sure we didn't get the best out of him over hurdles. He has lots of potential as a chaser where his natural speed could be a big assest. I'm looking forward to him going over fences and he 2m1 beginners chase at Leopardstown on Thursday will hopefully be the scene for his chasing debut

Voix Du Reve
I've had this horse at the back of my mind for a while now. I wanted to wait till Christmas to see the entries and any apparent confidence, and indeed he has continued to shorten against MK over the last week. I think he is currently going under the radar for the Arkle due to his less flashy profile.
A very promising juvenile hurdler, it looked like he could have won the Fred Winter but for falling at the last. He subsequently missed a season and showed moderate form last year winning some minor races. If you take the view that it took some time for him to get his act together, he has subsequently been a revelation over fences. Promising signs in beating Minds Eye 7l (won next start) but mighty impressive in the Craddockstown in smashing up Hardline who subsequently bolted up in the G3. Watching his jumping there he has a lovely aggressive style which will really pile the pressure on rivals.
He is obviously continuing to surprise Willie and as far as I can tell he is one of only two horses that make Arkle candidates at the moment. The other is Cilaos Emery who was a much more high profile hurdler and could easily develop into a high class chaser. It would have been good if we could have seen his chasing debut prior to VDR taking on Mengli Khan, but if VDR bolts up the value will be gone. I'm not too concerned he goes JLT from trainer comments so far and I actually think he was probably running at the wrong trip for much of his second season hurdling. The change of tactics by dropping in trip and making all seem to suit him perfectly.
I'll be watching the Racing Post Novice with fingers over the button.

If MK doesnt produce today, will Kalshnikov go even shorter than 7/2? That atm I believe is even shorter than what Footpad was for it last year at this time of year and I hold nowhere near as much confidence for that price!
Or if MK doesnt win will we have a new player in our hands, either from this race or elsewhere?
It's Strange as I have Kalashnikov covered at 8s, but want to go in again, and dont like 7/2, and think will go shorter after today or after his run. Am I being too greedy?
