Hello Fat Jockeys,

In my opinion he was a safe antepost angle as he was targeted for here and always runs his race. With decent festival form.

I expect he will find one or two too good on the day but it’s still a fair price.!

    That’ll do

I'd have turned around for sure, but I've already got my team.
I watched it without the blinkers of wanting to be right about an antepost bet!
His jumping was decent. At a few of the fences he took lengths out of them. Others i found him fiddly. I watched the race with the view to backing him as i only have CE any race.
I thought it was grand. Appar the time wasnt great, and that was with fences ommitted. And he had nothing in that field to worry him either.

As i said though, it was nice debut, it was grand it just didnt scream out to me you have to have him covered for March.
Those sitting with vouchers at 20/1 and above should obv be happy. I just wasnt tickled enough by the performance to take the 12s during the race.

          • I think Quevega’s point is the race was hardly one that would cause anyone to be ‘blown away’, regardless of how well he jumped, travelled etc

That is a fair point KSS.
I do have a couple of points worth of Free Bets, one at 25/1 and one at 20/1 - so was very much viewing through Rose Tinted Glasses!

Whilst not having much to beat - he beat them easily, hard-held and eased down.

He looked awkward at a couple of fences, but most chase debutants do (bar a few).
When he nailed his jumping, he did indeed take lengths out of the field.

Lalor's race had more depth, but I am happy enough with that for a debut...
(Given that I also have Lalor at 33's!! )

              • You are in fine position Leman14! 33s about Lalor is a cracking position. And again cant knock 25s and 20s on Mk!

Yep, he couldn't have done it any better for me, the time is irrelevant in this context.
But I imagine, as the King kinda said, it was the 12's that wasn't enticing enough really.

                  • Nice performance from MK. He may well have jumped even better with some pace in the race. Visually not as impressive as Lalor.
I just get the feeling we haven't seen the winner yet, and I'm not talking CE. I put CE up as a supreme bet 2 years ago and followed him all the way that year. I'd like to see an entry soon, what with the injury problems he's had, and his liking for Punchestown concerns me.

                    • decent first run by MK over fences , more to come id say. Lalor the better jumper and one to beat for me. If you park the front three in market - Lalor , Klnkv & MK you can put line through most the others on either they going elsewhere or not good enough.

                      • Can see Mengli running well at Chelts as the speed they go in the Arkle.

I agree, I don’t think we have seen the winner yet. I also get the feeling it won’t be CE either

We can't be far off seeing the winner though. I meanUllins has CE, Getabird & Bapaume of possibles, the others are either staying over hurdles or out injured.

Can't think of many other UK horses that fit the profile left to come out.

                            • On Lalor, Kalashnikov and Mengli Khan at the summer prices. Happy with that for now, but let's see what CE/Getabird brings to the table

                              • Agree with the majority regarding the race - nobody mentioned they ommitted 3 fences down the back though, pretty disappointing! 2 fences he looked superb but the camera really is abysmal at Punchestown (some of the shakey camera work is appauling), you can't see everything clearly to get a proper view.

Not that good at the last two really but race was already won because he's just got loads more flat speed than anything else in the race.

Looking forward to next time, not really learning a lot other than he jumps fine and retains his ability. Happy to be with him but want to see him again.
