The three-mile Grade Two contest is being considered for the Tom George-trained seven year old, ahead of a potential tilt at the RSA Chase at the Cheltenham Festival, for which he is as short as 12-1.

After losing his unbeaten record over fences on his penultimate start, the Grade One-winning hurdler returned to winning ways with an emphatic success at Cheltenham on Friday.

Owner Max McNeil said: “The good thing is he has had three runs over fences and two of them have been at Cheltenham.

“The first time he ran at Cheltenham he ran a little bit green and didn’t jump as well as the two that finished in front of him (Ibis Du Rheu and Theatre Territory), but he learnt a hell of a lot that day.

“I spoke to Adrian Heskin before he broke his leg and he suggested riding him a bit more aggressively to try to get him to fulfil that potential. We knew he had that kind of performance in him.

“Ground is important to him, I had a chat to Tom George in the summer and that is why we have got him out early.

“All things are fluid, but the plan is to go to the Reynoldstown, then go straight to the RSA.

“He will have an entry in the four-miler, but we’ve always thought of him of an RSA horse right from the start of the season.

“Noel Fehily has ridden some good horses in his time and the feedback he gave us on Friday was that there is plenty more to come.”
    RSA = wrong race fullstop.

Very much so. The winner jumped great.

I agree. Suits me down to the ground though because I think he'd seriously challenge some of my other positions in this race.

That just because you think he'd not have a chance of winning it?

I actually don't mind him in the RSA. I don't think he's a good bet at current 16/1 but he deserves a crack at it? Otherwise it'll just be Santini versus Next Destination and Delta Work in a 3 horse race.

RSA looks strong, but in turn that might also make the 4 miler a bit deeper? He'd have no chance in an RSA so and they're not smart enough to go handicapping

Yes I think he has no realistic chance of winning or even placing, but a lot could happen yet. We'll hopefully see a lot better where he ranks next time he runs.

He looked good the other day but was racing on his own really. I'd have been more impressed with the form had Rockerfeller stayed up and ran his race. Other than that he may have improved from his last run in terms of jumping and tactically, but not sure Ibis is reliable so not convinced.
Don't think he'll win any race at the festival myself but the RSA will normally have the better horses in it, so wrong race from that POV.

he's back up to 155 now so handicapping will be tricky, as I've said previously his hurdle mark looked high to me and now after running against the same horse twice he's regained it.

Tactically interesting too, positive tactics saw The Worlds End get back on track, but LBAR also likes to get on with things as does Bags Groove, and I'd imagine Nicky is going to use Mr Whipped positively too, especially if those on here are correct about him being a possible 4 miler.

That would leave Topofthegame & Santini to mop up should the above 4 take each other on too early, which is likely to happen in a small field and 4 of them as potential pace setters.
