Crowdfunder - Fat Jockey Forum upgrade

Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

  • BBB does have some back class ... grade 1 winner as well in a bumper ...

Bit unfair to say he no good when he's a festival winner over hurdles and a grade 1 bumper winner.

Good luck with your 1/16 lays though ....

Are you not being a little short sighted basing his chance in this race on this seasons form? No one has said he's shown strong chase form yet but there is clearly potential for him to be better than he's shown. If we can't agree on that I'll give up

I only back to lay (trade), rarely lay any horse from the outset, back against, yes, but not lay directly. Besides, I have him 'any race' I just don't think I'll be getting a return for my money if he comes here, that's all. As you noted, his being a previous festival winner, the reason I backed him, would entitle him to a level of respect, in, say, a handicap, which he won at the festival previously.

I agree. I'd also add that being a big boat of a thing that is sometimes one paced are characteristics that would worry me over 2m5f/3m, far less so over 4m. He's stepping into the unknown and perhaps I'm hoping more than anything that it will suit because i've backed him (definitely wearing blinkers here - he made me a small fortune last year). Ultimately I trust Gordon. His record in this race speaks for itself. As much as I'd value the experience over fences at Cheltenham, BBB needs to go to Naas over 3m and run well NTO

        • He only has one pace, slow.

The Martin Pipe he won was a bit of a farce.

He got a soft lead but a farce it was not. Defied top weight and won well when it looked like he’d be headed turning in

+1. That Martin Pipe form is worth diddly squat in my opinion. He was absolutely gifted the race

              • Tiger Roll's Triumph was worth diddly squat.

                Still a festival winner.

                Definitely going to come 3rd

You can't compare a Triumph hurdle to a conditionals handicap.

I was thinking 4th was the best he could finish

I can, 'cos we agree all the time

.... but .... it's more a general point, even if the form of a festival winner doesn't look like much, I still think it holds gravitas

Tiger Roll didn't go in to the 4 miler with people saying "well he won a strong Triumph" because let's face it, he didn't... and I know it's relative, but I am not sure 4 year olds would beat Martin Pipe horses... there is certainly not a clear cut case that Martin Pipe winners haven't gone on to be great horses... same with the Triumph too of course, but I don't think you can believe Triumph winners are a cut above?

Do you think mall dini will turn up here kev ?
Was banking on Patrick riding him in the Kim muir

No, i don't believe Triumph winners are a cut above, far from it in fact, but the Triumph is always a competitive race where the best horse on the day wins.

If the Martin Pipe was a race for professional jockeys I think we'd have seen a different result. BBB was at the front end all the way and was gifted an easy lead coming down the hill, off a slow pace. It was game over from that point. BBB is a decent horse but I've got a big question mark against that form, that's all.

I'm not sure I'm getting my point across very well

149 in Ireland, so can't see a way to get him 145 or below by March...

so has to be here for me?

Maybe, but BBB is likely to have a top jockey this race too if he gets here, so hopefully he can steal another race

I do see your point on the4 form,. I don't disagree that he doesn't have strong chase form, and I can also see why the hurdles form doesn't stack up too.

I just don't really see a lot of depth yet.

Mall dini could do a cause of causes, chinned in the KIm Muir and back for the 4 miler.

How much do you think he would drop for a down the field run tomorrow ?
