What don't you like about Vinndication?

      I think he's a reet nice type.

Biiig chaser. Heart like a lion. Wins the JLT by 1L.

      Easy

Might have mis wrote it or you misread it. I don't dislike him. I think the opposition entered up against him is very poor. Won't learn much there.
        It's a no win sit...
If he gets beat he's no chance in the JLT.
If he wins he's beat nothing of note.

True enough, I think the form of his Carlisle win may prove to be good in the future, unfortunately Euxton Lane is no longer with us. Over hurdles he beat Champ the current favorite for the Ballymore giving him 6lbs. He was obviously wrapped in cotton wool to a certain extent last season with a good chasing campaign in mind. I like him, wears his heart on his sleeve & he won’t be stopping up the hill in March!

33's is great value, ill certainly be topping up on Friday if he's declared.

Nah I didn't misread, just was guessing/poking around to see why you hadn't weighed in or against him yet

The only thing we'll learn is if he'll handle Cheltenham I suppose

            • Vinndication:

The 33/1 shot for the JLT Novices' Chase has been given an entry in the Ryman Novices' Chase at Cheltenham's International Meeting on Saturday.

Bailey is tempted by giving him some Cheltenham experience, but admits a race at Ascot the following weekend has always been plan A.

"We've put him in a race at Cheltenham so we'll see what the weather does," he said.

"He wants soft ground and we will take a look at the race.

"He's in really good form although the form of his chasing debut hasn't quite worked out yet, so we'll see."
Will be a shame if he skips what looks a winnable race at Cheltenham in favour of Ascot. If that happens i'd say it's almost certain he won't be festival bound

              • Form hasn't worked out yet. The 2nd hasn't run, the 3rd has died, the distant 4th was beat by arguably the best novice chase performance of the season.

He's obviously desperate to swerve Cheltenham. Hopefully the owners let him know who's boss.

                • I'd want to see him left-handed before getting involved.

                  • good to see Hardline get a mention for this in the Lydia column today. Im not sure if he comes here but have him covered for this and any race markets.

Got smashed to pieces by Voix Du Reve over a trip too short for the pair of them I suspect. I don't see the form being turned around for any reason.

Big Voix Du Reve fan, hope he comes here over the Arkle.

I suspect Hardline would have to come here really, Mengli Khan looks like the number 1 for the Arkle.

Smashed to pieces??? hardline got a bit tired on the run-in. VDR had fitness advantage.

As for VDR, I can't have a horse winning at the festival thats been running all year. If they put him away now that might be different.

Hardline will be a different horse come March Imo.

What fitness advantage? Both horses had run and won convincingly within 40 days of them meeting, so that's a complete fabrication.

I agree about him running for the best part of a year, but he hasn't been chasing all year, he's been kept ticking over, over hurdles, I do think they now need to put him away for a bit, however, the key to his recent success' may well be that he needs to keep racing, only connections will know that.

Hardline is a good horse, but I am not convinced he'll be Gigginstown's number one for any of the novice chases myself.

Hey Jono, do you still believe that even though Vinndication likely skipped Cheltenhem on this occasion because of the ground he won't be heading to the Festival? In slight contradiction to the trainer's comments I was told earlier in the week (via one of the owners) they were very much hoping to run at Cheltenham as long as there was rain. So as there wasn't any I'm not overly concerned of any link between this decision and not targeting the Festival.

                            • Kim insisting its ground dependent doesn't make it much of an antepost proposition. Getting his excuses ready.

Angels Breath pulled today for the same reason, does it make him any less likley to turn up in March? I get the concerns and obviously if it's a good ground in March you'd be a little worried, but can't help but feel they are being exaggerated a little after he missed the Festival this year, on the face of it least due to sore shins. Anyway being on with 365 lessens the risk of course
