Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

He was held up off a slow pace on heavy ground last time.
Nothing to suggest he doesn't on his hurdles form. His 3 defeats have been on Good, Good/Soft & Soft, not as if all 3 were on good, I'd be more concerned if they dropped him in trip which I can't see happening now, especially as JP seems to have Le Richebourg too now for the Arkle.

He deffinately won't drop in trip. I just think he got his optimimum conditions last time . Heavy ground, Sat out the back and came through with a wet sail when the leaders got tired. If he runs at chelt we'll see if that's the case.

I'd back the tizzard horse ew if I still had a 365 account at 25s. Other than that I can't see a bet in this race. I Might just get lucky with one of the ones iv backed any race.

He'll get a decent pace to aim at at the festival that's for sure.

I won't be backing anything in that particular race tbh. Just viewing with an eye on this race.

        • Not a good strike rate from Dipper to Cheltenham - not that it has stopped me backing the intended horses for the race.

If I thought Delta Work could get beat today over 3m I'd already be on him 16/1 for this race... I'll be hovering just in case he gets out stayed. Can't really see it though

Hope you're wrong Kev as I've been chipping away at this one for the 4 miler, stamina looks his forte so I just can't have him for this

He was too good over 2m4f to go all the way up to 4m don't you think?

I did back him (with free bets) for the 4 miler during the summer but am not confident he's going there now.

A good 20f horse definitely, but to win a Pertemps as a 5yo showed good stamina at such a young age that he should only step up in trip, he was even tried at 3m just short of his 5th birthday so I'd like to think the plan is staying races.
I remember BayofFreadom and archie saying the Irish calendar doesn't have many/any staying novice chases in the Autumn so the fact Delta Work has run over shorter this year I hope is simply because of lack of alternatives.

I can't get him in my RSA book because Santini wins that....

                  • Yeah I have him as an almost certain RSA horse now, before he ran I thought 4 miler, and I think he'd be a huge player in the JLT

But was backed Any Race and then a few free bets on the 4 miler so no damage done.

I dopn't doubt he has the stamina, I just think they'll have some other plodders for that race, and he's too good to be in it. HE'd win it, but he's too good.

Think you're underestimating the quality needed for the 4 miler there Kev, with the likes of Native River, Minella Rocco, Tiger Roll and Sizing Tennessee coming from the race in recent years this is a very different race from versions 20+ years ago....

I'm not, I'm saying Gigginstown will not put their best staying chaser in the 4 miler. Their best will be in the RSA. I didn't mean Delta Work is too good to win it, as that's a nonsense comment haha.

                          • He's almost certain to be RSA bound lads, he travels & jumps like a proper classy 3miler & he hasn't had a proper test in Ireland yet, pity Mortal missed the last today & Next Destination hasn't lined up against him.

I wonder will the vastly more competitive racing on the opposite side of the the pond improve the GB contenders. The ground has been more friendly to the likes of Henderson, Nicholls & co. with regards getting there runners prepped properly too.
