They got badly burnt with Envoi, Shishkin and Monkfish last season. Seems like they are terrified to have an opinion this year.

      • They held it until at least 1.30am this morning.

I dont think they could do much more given it was a standout best, as they have been for the horse for weeks.

Thats much better than UTA picks generally lasted with them last season.

I hope that continues all season.

To give them credit, they were the only company to hold his price overnight. Everyone else reacted before 365.I thought 7/1 was very fair for the market principal.

Yeah but they held the price for hours which was the complaint from most people last season so everyone had a chance to watch the show and time to back their selections at the prices if they wished.

Yeah it won't be the case throughout the series. Monkfish was 12's pre fence debut, prices are just shocking.

Yeah but I think its similar to last season
Envoi & Shishkin were 5s & 6's - Appreciate It & Bob were similar this year at 5's & 6's they started at that and held for a good while.
Monkfish was 12's but Gallopin was 25's at one stage when people figured he would go RSA based on where he was running.

The joys of antepost these days I guess

They only held it because it was 7/1. If it was 20s plus it would have went a lot quicker.

                  • Why would anyone serious about betting and trying to attain value (surely what antepost betting is solely about?) be whingeing about the price ‘despite never jumping a fence’ when he was 25/1 in the late Spring this year, strong rumours positioning him as this race he’s being lined up for, and ‘despite never jumping a fence’……??

When a bookmaker’s liabilities for a specific horse start mounting, their system algorithms only do one thing - shorten it again.

And though Gavin Lynch is very watchable, and rather intellectually entertaining, why would you wait until he puts his selections up when you can makes yours weeks and months beforehand…….?

Just a thought to the naysayers.

90% of the folk on here are months ahead of Gavin Lynch and years ahead of David Jennings, so presumably this is aimed at the minions not on the FJF?

Bold and underlined just for charlie

Some people obviously don't like DIY, or have the time or impulse to research their own antepost bets. Like a lot of people do on here.

Why do I get someone in to paint the hallway. Cos I'm busy doing other shit and want a decent job doing.
I reckon a casual punter with no time or inclination to do research themselves but wants a "List" for Cheltenham, may follow Gavin's tips or someone like Scooby's & all the others out there.
                        Nothing wrong with that.
Just not everyone's cup of tea.

Nice to see you back again Envoy, missed your patronising tone.
                        Always welcome your thoughts though.

The whole bungalow is white. It was just an example (although I didn't do the hallway in the last house)
Been moved in a year and done fuck all to it so far, as every fuckers busy. And the Mrs still thinks we're back in the 1980's every time she sees a quote
