he’s keeping his 2021 results under wraps which suggests he’d not done as well as many on here.

I asked if he was going to do a review on his results which he has done but only to paid members this year i believe. If it was open to everyone and showed a decent profit then you would have thought it would only draw more people into his service so maybe didnt do as well as some on here I'm not sure tbh.

I'm sure he would have done ok but he would have had to go some to match some of the extraordinary results on here in March. The secret though is to be consistent. Profits year on year is much better than having a one off banging Fez.

reckon should have kev and one other v gavin and Dave! FJ member posts Monday and can do 1 or 2 selections per week. Love reading people thoughts and comments. Only my thoughts

Whether Scooby has had results to match the best on here is neither here nor there in my opinion. If he's made a profit then he did the job and that's it. Anyone that followed him that doesn't put the effort in that we all do made money too, so everyone's happy.

I also don't think he needs to be afraid of making comparisons to what anyone here achieved. Consider, he made his profit alongside the daily and weekly pressure of having to tip winners to keep people paying. A huge amount of work and some serious effort I reckon, so it's unlikely he can completely obsess about Cheltenham the way many of us do. And also he will very possibly not be on at the best of the prices, which also has a direct impact on his ROI.

I don't have the mentality to go through the grind he does to make it work for a living, but I have nothing but admiration for anyone that does what he does successfully.

that was the whole point
if Kev could make more profit putting selections up each week than upping the ante combined could.
this came about as Kev was vocal in his criticisms of why they were moving markets most weeks.
So even though he wasn’t criticising the program content, personalities or even the selections.
I challenged him to beat them.
which he did. Without much effort.
gavin was unfortunate to be fair.


it got tiresome (almost as tiresome as explaining the rules and idea behind it again and again)

My own two penneth on this would be that we do it anyway, really well.

We have the threads for races and sections for peoples personal bets (diaries) to be discussed, debated and analysed.... just without the stipulation of having to put the selection out at a certain time each week.




I will add I have absolutely no problem at all if someone wants to take over from me doing this challenge.... for the reasons Quevega has said above, I'm not really excited about trying to prove it again, but if someone else wants to prove that this forum is a better resource and worthy of moving markets (although let's hope it doesn't) then you have my blessings

I agree Spectre,

The grind of nurdling out enough winners to make a profit, each month, on uninteresting daily racing is a task that doesn’t interest me in the slightest.
If decent profits can be obtained from that then it is very commendable.

Whether that’s topped up with 300% or 400% profit at Cheltenham or less, wouldn’t matter for his members, who want the information, and detail he uses when assessing and making his bets, and they pay for the service, to avoid doing all that work for themselves.

In return making enough back to cover the members fees and a profit on top, for blindly following someone else’s work would be a big enough reward in itself.

We could easily replicate the format, without needing the comparison with Up The Ante.

We could all pick one runner each Monday at Bet365 prices and collate it in a thread, from when UTA starts until it ends.

Maybe that would lead to around 15 picks each, at prices available antepost at the time we put them up.

Now that’s more interesting to me, who would be the antepost FJ star through the winter? - all decided in March.

From our posts each week we could carry forward our list of picks, races and Bet365 prices, and add one to that list by close of play each Monday.

If someone wants to collate a list on a spreadsheet that’s fine, to keep a check on it.

The Upping the Ante mob should really change the day they make selections. I'd probably say Monday is the worst. More reactive than proactive, and reactions have usually happened by Monday afternoon.
Better on a Friday I reckon when decs are known at the weekends.
