Upping the ANTE vs Kevloaf 2021

Was a tough call this week, don't want to add anything to races I've already backed no matter how shit. In the Boodles I considered Riviere D'etal at 22/1 and Teahupoo at 16/. Even Busselton 14/1 and Glorious Zoff at 33/1 but I like the way Druid's Altar picked up again to win the race and feel the mark of 130 is going to be 134/135 and I think 25/1 is a good price for that.

Wanted one in the Grand Annual as well, couldn't decide between the Skelton Pair at 25/1 Not That Fuisse and Amoola Gold so ended up going with Embittered as he's long been on the shortlist and given Joseph is bounding into form I've gone that way.

I was all for A Plus Tard at 7/1 and then just been swayed because 365 are standout price on stablemate Minella Indo. I liked Henry's comments pointing out he raises his game for the festival. He seems to believe we'll see a different horse in the Gold Cup, and having completed last time, he's not going in off the back of a fall which is a bonus. I also wanted to have a selection in the race and can't put up the most likely winner even in this format

So annoyed at myself with Grand Roi. Backed him ages ago for this in a win single but couldn't have predicted Gavin putting him up, and I've been meaning to add him further but put off backing 20's then he was clipped to 16's now this happens

I'll still take the 12's mind, but just frustrating.

I think he has a cracking chance.

I felt DJ’s choice was a bit of a poor one today. 20/1 was available for Hook Up for a good while after the DRF 2m novice hurdle (I think it was a still available the following Tuesday - the time of their next show and after the Solerina had been run) and was 12/1 for at least 10 days after. But he tips it up now after it’s been tipped by others all the way down to 7s.

His reasoning is he’s had big prices so far and needs some winners, but nothings changed form wise for the race since the Solerina on 8th Feb.

I take it as a big positive he put her up considering hes spent the last few days talking to trainers (including Willie). He could have got a very strong vibe off Willie (something that hasnt been printed in the stable tour- perhaps a comment she is the stable no1?) but even on twitter he gave her a good mention after meeting Willie.

Yeah I was forgetting he’d done the stable
tour. Still, felt the tip was probably there long before if he’d wanted it but point taken. Willie wins the Mares Novice and she’s his no.1.

I went without cash out and got 13.08's with Hills. Not ideal as I should have pulled my finger out when he went to 16's in the first place, but oh well! We live and learn, and if we don't we continue to make the same mistakes
