Gavin put up some very very interesting stats about mullins and elliot that everyone has to listen to and make a note of

It mustve taken him hours and hours to go through those races

It's the same way whatashout moves the market for a main fancy every Friday whether that's on the flat or jumps.

Let's say you were replaced with Gavin Lynch and you done what he does and that was put out there on the racing posts channel. You would also move the markets. Sure Gavin Lynch doesn't even have any other form of social media so it's not like he's Paul Kealy or anyone in that he would somewhat have his own following.
That what a shout is horrendous

Wish they would scrap it and just have the podcast as a video like they used to

        I don't understand the point you're making.

The programme 'Upping the Ante' isn't worthy of moving the market. They could replace either of them and the point would stand.

I back myself (and I'd back anyone who uses this forum) to beat them head to head ante post.

I know I had Galvin cut at least 2x bookies ...

Yup nobody can really find fault with that level of information.

Did I not put up interesting stats about Gordon Elliott in handicaps?

I'm sure they'd both be great additions to the forum too

If a number of us got paid to do horse racing 100% of the time I'd fancy us to be able to at least do the same job.

They have posted profit though for three years out of three so I think anyone who does follow them(I personally don't) would be thankful for it and that right there is justifiable enough in terms of their picks being justified in moving the market.

You are gonna go up against them in the same format they are constrained to. One pick a week, win only, 1 point per selection, no cashout ect and see how you get on?

As a betting man would I back you to win? Yup certainly against David Jennings anyway but Gavin Lynch clearly knows his stuff as well and for all we know could very well read this forum himself because the information given on it by some posters is second to none. None of that changes the fact though three years running upping the ante has returned a profit for its listeners which is surely a good thing?

No I never even alluded that you were? I was responding to somebody else about the ten or so minute fact piece GL done.

Been looking forward to this. I watched every episode of upping the ante (I’d watch any video that discussed cheltenham haha) I backed a few on that weren’t on radar, but would totally agree with Kev that most of what they give or talk about has already been discussed on here. Case and point being Saint Roi, Gavin also mentioned backing Galvin at 14-1 a few weeks ago on program and he and a number of horses he highlighted have been discussed and added to the antepost portfolio beforehand
reason I love this forum so much and decided to finally join haha

Yep - Gavin clearly thinks Saint Roi is still value at the price - with the morgiana this weekend. I'm certain he's backed it at bigger prices.

I get the Kev should pick 1 theory.
But that's not going to happen.

                      because.

                      1. He thinks he can beat them both on his own.
                      2. they'll pick more than one some weeks, i.e Gavin may pick 2 and Jennings 1, so however many they both select in total then Kev ought to match that.

The selections Kev picks have to be available at current prices, and it ought to be B365 also as it looks like they are restricted to them only.

Gavin thought Sir Gerhard would go over hurdles, due to his age - and has backed him for the ballymore.
What kind of idiot would do that ?

Haha thought of a certain someone straight away when he said that!

Really like Gavin Lynch on the same page for a good few who he praised, but also respected those who he ruled out that I have time for. Some very interesting stats he delivered as someone mentioned previously.

                          Any chance Kev? Lol

Don’t think you were the only one to take that view Q although I hadn’t parted with cash.

I just wonder if CP have another decent bumper horse then they will decide to send him over hurdles.

I'll start by picking Sir Gerhard for the race he'll run in than shall I?

I'm a bit conflicted about Saint Roi.... if I lose out to Gavin Lynch in THIS format by not putting him up, but have backed him at much bigger prices, I look like a loser either way!

                                Anyway....I'll kick off with:
                                • Appreciate It (Ballymore) 14/1
                                • Saldier (Champion Hurdle) 25/1

Was tempted by Abacadbras (10/1) as well - I will be hoping for a Saint Roi win in the Morgiana but Saldier is a good value pick at 25/1 in my opinion before that race is run regardless. The target will be the same win or lose and he may only go out to 33/1 if he is well beaten. I'll just have to live with Saint Roi getting Gavin off to a good start in here

Appreciate It is best price with 365 and whilst he's not due out anytime soon, I feel confident he'll be single figures so I'll get him in nice and early.

I'm not worried about Mister Fisher, I wouldn't back him at less than 66/1.
