Hand forced with Galvin as he's literally my biggest winner outside of this format, and although he won't run between now and then, he'll be shorter on the day.
Fury Road - Bigger price than Sire Du Berlais, both been out and won. Can see the appeal with SDB but I think Fury Road's the better value of the two. I see SDB is now in to 8/1 based on the above... so at double the price I don't think that's a silly bet.
Elixir D'ainay has an entry in a race I'm very excited about.... 33/1 I feel is a massive price prior to a run.

Which is why I was a tiny bit surprised when he put up Saint Roi last week at 15/2 and a few people (not only on this forum but elsewhere across the web) questioned the fact that he was easily available at 25’s three months ago.
Are we silly enough to not believe that Gavin Lynch, if he’s talking about this horse, and prepares steadfastly for the festival 12 months in advance has not taken 25/1 and greater before we’ve even had a sniff? I’d be reasonably confident he’s had many fingers in many Cheltenham 2021 pies weeks and months before we’ve even taken an informal look at any of the markets.
So though his selections might not always seem that original on the show, don’t be fooled into thinking he’s not wagered months in advance on those selections at double the prices than he’s putting up, and we might have done a few weeks ago.
His antepost pick of Envoi Allen for the Marsh the day before last season’s festival even began looks a very shrewd bet now. He even committed (readily available on YouTube) to suggesting to viewers he won’t go to the RSA, so I’d be confident he’s wagered fairly significantly on that selection.
Upping the Ante is a great watch. It’s fun, it’s informally presented, it might not always tell us things we haven’t seen with our own eyes, but it’s always done very well.
I just find it hard to believe that when they put horses and prices up and we all shout ‘MATE, I GOT BETTER THAN THAT LAST MONTH’........that Lynch & Jennings haven’t already staked at a bigger price weeks before they’ve even whispered their selections to us all every Tuesday afternoon.Last edited by EnvoyAllen; 18 November 2020, 09:05 AM.

I completely agree.
Its a really interesting show but please don't think that when tips are put up each week, that (like us) they havent backed them well before, maybe even before their shows even started this season.
Its refreshing not to have them hammer on that they have 50/1, but then putting the horse up at 10's this week.
UTA is not close to a direct comparison to Fat Jockey, its an amusing aside each week, whereas FJ is detail and knowledge day in, day out.
For me, its a "must watch" as soon as it comes out, purely because if they tip a horse Ive been pondering, but haven't backed yet, then the price could disappear, in a puff of smoke.

The lads are a great watch, you can be sure GL is sitting on some fairly nice antepost picks as usual. Must be frustrating for him then to have to put up at lesser odds like Galvin, even DJ joking last week to tell the viewers what price he actually had on Galvin.
They do the show well I must say, to the point, bit of humor & opinions and bounce off each other well and all within a relatively short time period covering what should be covered without boring people.
I think its the nature of the beast though in terms of price cuts ; you see prices cut as a result of stuff going on FJ here along with most tipsters on twitter as soon as a blog / tip goes up. Bookies cut horses once any bit of money starts to flow on a horse and in cases of certain tipsters have them cut before any money goes on at all.

Castra Vetera was one I thought he would put up ; before she won the weekend he had wrote this a few weeks back, he wasn't far wrong!
Castra Vetera is an imposing mare, who is only going to get stronger and better with time. She is seriously smart so put her in your tracker in case you miss her turning up in a maiden hurdle somewhere soon. You will not regret it.

Exactly! Especially GL. Its the format and parameters they are tied too.
It's a pointless exercise isn't it, their mythical points, no pressure to actually make any money - just throwing up tips they must know aren't the best value, yet the prices get cut.
It's backwards.
I am absolutely staggered at the gushing (and it is gushing) about the show, and Gavin Lynch has tipped in November, a 12.5/1 double, Honeysuckle and Envoi Allen?
Is that really what people are tuning in for? Wow, just absolutely stunned by that.
Honestly, that's fucking awful isn't it?
David Lynch absolutely saving the day with his picks, they're alright.
Tower Bridge as well, I mean come on... is that the best he can do? The 14/1 ante post favourite? In November? Amazing. Ammmmaaaaaaaaaaazing.

Quevega - can you let me know the rules please boss, so I need to put up a double as well?
In the meantime, in the Pertemps I'll have Column Of Fire at 25/1
I also will have Mystery Horse for the Supreme at 33/1 - You'll have to take my word on the price, but 50's are available elsewhere still I think
