        Very true.

They like to pick ones that B365 have best prices on, if they can.

If they do that tomorrow, the likely list will include

        Impervious
        I Am Maximus
        Shewearsitwell
        Journey With Me
        Third Time Lucki
        Chacun Pour Soi
        American Mike
        Eklat De Rire

....and of all of the above,
Impervious stands out like a big sore thumb.

If I was Gavin Lynch, that's who I would pick, at B365 prices.

            • I think GDC too. Absolute tool, 7/1, and destination almost certain.

                • I guarantee that Echoes and Telmesomethinggirl will be mentioned too.

I was just coming back to this thread to mention TMSG.

Gavin likes Echoes, and she runs at the weekend so he may well mention her.

                    • Gavin will probably put up American mike

He put him up in his racing post column before down royal and will likely want him onside

Hes single figures and only has one possible target which fits gavins early MO

He tends to look to play it safe early on whereas DJ fires loads of risky big priced ones and hopes one sticks

                      • Upping the ante is a bit like complimentary fresh towels at an otherwise shit hotel. It won't make or break your stay, but it's a nice touch.

General rule of thumb is don't take anything DJ says seriously. He can make what sounds like a good case about a horse, but he rarely does well and backs far too many British trained horses and has a scattergun approach. Gavin knows the time of day. I like GL and respect his opinion and I thought he was unlucky last year.

It gets me excited for cheltenham which is good. Hate they don't hold prices for 24 hours following show, that needs to be rectified

                        • People are probably right that Gavin will go for his more solid ones early as he does even with American Mike so he has it in his shows book.

Another he will do at some point i thought for his “captain” could be Energumene at 5/1 if he thinks it will be an easy run in Ireland for him until Cheltenham as he could be 7/4 with a few wins.

                          • I would be surprised if it wasn't Journey with me given the way the market has reacted to him over the last 3-4 weeks and given that he is as short as 10/1 with 4 other bookies and a standout with 365.

Agreed. I never watched it when it first started, and it's still kinda annoying that it shifts prices like it does (especially with its sponsor) but once I got in the routine of watching it, it's two quite affable chaps talking about Cheltenham. To expand your metaphor, it's not the main course, but it's a fun amuse bouche. Also a nice counterpoint to Road to Cheltenham which is a bit more serious and straight

                              • Looking forward to it. It's a very enjoyable show which I equate to a Monday night football. It's never going to make you change your team but it doesn't mean it isn't enjoyable hearing the opinions of two people clearly passionate about a sport you also love.
